WHo would be interested in a tru collective short story? I mean, a story with multiple authors, but where everything is coherent. One example of a collective tale would be Stephen King and Peter Straub's Bl;ack House or the Talisman. I have always enjoyed doing these "rpund robin" stories...and wanted to make one here. Simple idea. One person starts off (not me...I always start in the middle of the action), and the nexty person reads through it, and adds on. Next person reads through all of it (to get background and whatnot), and adds on. Process continues. Every time you stop, you read through where you left off and add at the end. Just a thought.

I propose this set of rules:


1) No RayCav style posts

2) We add onto the story using quotes, but delete all other quotes inside the main quote except for the most recent post before yours (I hope everyone understands this) so we don't clutter the thread with quotes inside quotes inside quotes etc.

3) If two people quote and add onto the story at the same time, the post that went up first becomes "canon" and everyone else will be expected to follow that.


There are the few rules that I propose.

Maybe instead of who gets their post first we can instead see which post is better, then follow up on that. Anyway, if this endeavour ever gets off the ground, I'm definetly in.

What the heck, I'm in as well. Maybe the current author could "pass" it to someone specifically, either their choice or set up via some schedule.

Also is there any chance we can request it to be a sticky?

Okay, then, I think this is an idea! And I personally vote Stravo (who is our best writer here) to start us off. And if I am involved, no UNNECESSARY gore will be involved. Yes, people more than likely will get killed, and I happen to have a fascination with doing it graphically. HOWEVER, we must set who gets to go when, ie, it could go Stravo, Kelly, I, Shinova, repeat (as an example). But I think Stravo should go first.

Yes, deciding on the authors first and putting us in an order would work the best. My idea, have the story up in one thread and comments in another, like what Bean has done with Star Crossed. That way we won't lose the flow of the story OR have to quote everything before it.

This will MOST DEFINATELY be in the fanfic forum (naked attempt to expand my power) I will take care of making sure that we have both a cleaned up version and our comment riddled version. I'm not sure about starting off unless we kind of set some ground rules as to what sort of genre we're writing in, what universe we want to set it in, etc....

I got really annoying with Verilon adding it to all his posts. Somethin thats been done to much and killed shouldn't be continued.

I find it very overdone. Think of how much verilon posts and how many times in one thread you see it. See my point?

But anyway, about the only worlds I can write in are a modern or future Earth, Star Wars, Cowboy Bebop, Ravenloft, Faerun... we could make our own world?

I would like to join. I can only do a half-dozen worlds, though, so maybe a custom world would be best, unless we can decide on something we've all read/watched. Star Wars, I guess, tho that might get a little boring.
