My sister just filed for a restraining order, after her boyfriend and father of her youngest, sent her to the hospital overnight (Broken bones) and shook my niece. Needless to say I am not a happy nice bear, I am very pissed, and have half a mind to head up to Redmound.

I think the part about her filing a restraining order includes calling the cops. Since the law is currently involved, he's spared the "Mercies" of an Irate nutcase, and the girl's Vietnam Vet. Navjo father.

How old is your neice? If she's fairly young being shaken can be very dangerous for her and most cops know that now. Although, child abuse might be a moot point since he broke some of your sister's bones. Hopefully he's going to be spending some time in jail for awhile.

When I first read the title of this thread, I began to wonder. When I saw it was written by you, I REALLY began to wonder. Then when I read this, I wanted to put my fist through the wall. People like that need to die horribly. I say we grab Shep, head out there and have us a good 'ole coon hunt. While I too would love to express my darkest desires for such people and how we should deal with them we must always remember that now that the law is involved it's probably best if you don't go anywhere near him. What you should do is be there for your sister. Does she live close or far away? If far away try and get some time off work and go up to see her. You need to be the support for her, and more importatly you must NOT LET HER GET BACK WITH HIM! This is the best thing that any brother can do for his sister. Show her caring and love, and help her out. It's important that she realises the difference between genuine love and carring, and an abusive love that will hurt her. The fact that she has filed a restraining order speaks well of her, but there is no harm in just being there for her. Just take care of your sister.... And plus if he tries to make an apperance you can just claim self defence and the fact that she has a restraining order would work to your advantage
