Who would win in no holds bar fight for best Super Hero of Earth?
My money is on Goku beacuse there is no way a hero of Earth should be wearing red panties on the outside of his jumpsuit.

Shit. Voted for the wrong one. Superman. Easy. Eventually Kakerrat runs out of energy while the only thing that really kills Superman is Kryptonite. I'd like to see Goku find some of that.

Blasphemer. Superman was killed fighting Doomsday, and when they both game back to life, Doomsday would have killed him again, but they had a gay story where entrophy at the end of time finally did Doomsday in. Superman pussed out. Goku never died at the hands of an enemy and wounldn't run out of energy fighting Superman anyway, considering Goku has faught villians far surpassing anything Superman ever has.
Superman ~ gay heat ray vision that burns toast
Goku ~ Kamehameha that destroys galaxies
'nuff said.

Goku died *several* time sat the hands of enemies. And I resent your use of the word *gay.* A better match up would be Go
han against Superman.

Draw.
Superman is virtually immortal. Kyptonite is the "magic bullet" that can harm him easily.
However, Superman needs exposure to solar energy to be able to keep his powers up (like a rechargible battery).
He can also be beaten to death, eventually.
Son Goku is still somewhat fragile, physically, compared to Superman. But he has a lot of Ki energy (What time period is Goku from for this, anyway? Anything after the Buu Saga and into Dragon Ball GT and he's practically invincible.)
I just can't think of these two fighting each other, as they're pretty much different versions of the same person, if you think about it.
I like both of them too much to fully side with one.
But I'd have to say Son Goku wins (especially if he is able to go SSJ4).
And to reflect my stance, I'm not voting.
(So what if I changed my mind while writing this?)

Which is why I think that Gohan can kill him. And that was *if* he makes it to SSJ4.

Who killed Goku? No one, he
sacrificed himself in order to save the planet or his friends. He sacrificed himself by restraining Radizt in order for Picollo to kill him and he teleported with Cell to King Kai's planet to keep Cell from blowing up the Earth but they did not kill him with their own hands. Superman is still a puss and even Mystic Gohan would mop the floor with Superman. Maybe a better matchup would be Krillen VS. Superman.
HA!
Superman ~ magic Ice breath
Goku ~ Genki Dama

Hmm...you have your points...Goku wins...but only because of Beans points. And IIRC, I think he died at the hands of Frieza the second time around....but I also think I'm wrong. And he died at the hands of Cell. End of story. And what about the Androids? And even if he sacrificed himself, he still died.

Freeza never killed Goku.
Goku escaped to Yakkarn (or something) (I think).

Like I said, I thought I was wrong. And I also haven't watched it in a while.

Goku wouldn't need Kryptonite.
However, Superman needs exposure to solar energy to be able to keep his powers up (like a rechargible battery).
I believe it is a yellow sun to be specific for Superman to recharge his powers.
He can also be beaten to death, eventually.
Like Doomsday did, and would have the second time around if Superman didn't puss out.
Son Goku is still somewhat fragile, physically, compared to Superman. But he has a lot of Ki energy (What time period is Goku from for this, anyway? Anything after the Buu Saga and into Dragon Ball GT and he's practically invincible.)
Blasphemy, how in the world is Goku physically fragile compared to Superman? His Ki not only allows him to do his ki attacks, but also unimaginable physical strength. And we are talking about Goku and Superman at their best. SSJ4 Goku and the current Superman.
But I'd have to say Son Goku wins (especially if he is able to go SSJ4).
Of course!

Err, correct me if I'm wrong, but Doomsday had Kryptonite embedded within him, which was why he could injure Superman. Of course, it all depends on WHICH Superman we're talking about...overpowered, invincible to everything but Kryptonite Superman, or very, very tough but speeding locomotives are at the edge of my strength Superman?
I say we send Gotenks in for humor value.

What you mean
if he makes it to SSJ4? He wouldn't need it! SSJ3 would be enough to whoop up Superman. Besides, Goku can transform fairly quickly in the later half of DBZ.

Goku's planet doesn't have one...?

Forget the SSJ levels, just have Mystic Gohan fight. He was the one who said something along the lines of "I don't need to go Super Saiyan, that would be pointless." That suggests he was at least as powerful in Mystic form as an SSJ3, and SSJ4 is semi-canon, since GT's not written by Toryama (and I'm about 99% sure I spelled that wrong).

The only points I seen were Mr. Beans "Superman cannot breath with no head" point. Goku is faster, stronger, and a hell of a lot smarter when it comes to battle sense, and I am not even mentioning all the whoop ass powers Goku has at his disposal. And he didn't die at the hands of Cell either. He teleported Cell off of the Earth to keep Cell from exploding.
. And what about the Androids?
What about them?
And even if he sacrificed himself, he still died
Cop out answer!
But he never died at the hands of some ogre of a monster...::cough Doomsday cough::

Big Fucking Deal.
So I forgot to specify that he need's a yellow sun.

Not that I remember. He started off as a single celled organism and the Kryptonian scientists were conducting some kind of uber evolution experiment, exposing him over a period of 100 years in some kind of harsh planets evironment. Anyway, he evolved into that lumbering ass hulk, killed the scientists, and was finally subdued and *GASP* sent out to space and landed on Earth. Go figure. Because the scientists were Kryptonian, Doomsday had an instinctive hatred for Superman.
Of course, it all depends on WHICH Superman we're talking about...overpowered, invincible to everything but Kryptonite Superman, or very, very tough but speeding locomotives are at the edge of my strength Superman?
Current Superman i.e. Post-Crisis.
I say we send Gotenks in for humor value.
Krillen would be funnier.

It is a big deal! Drag him off somewhere with no yellow sun and no powers! All you would have left is Clark Kent. What is he going to do? Paper cut your ass to death with his journalistic prowess?
And no SSJ4 Gogeta, just Goku.

I think they may have killed him...but I may also be thinking incorrectly, as they destroyed other characters...

It's not a copout. I fone dies, one dies,m end of story.

BAH. No canon issues. I believed Toryama stayed on to advise the staff of GT, but he ended his manga at the end of the Buu Saga.
The levels are
SSJ
USSJ
SSJ Full Power
SSJ2
SSJ3
Mystic SSJ
SSJ4

Toriyama didn't have anything to do with GT, and only did general approval work.

How about Mr. Satan? "World Martial Arts Champ" against the Man of Steel. He'd get his ass handed to him, but it would be funny.
Or Puar.
