Cops and in a number of cases residents, shoot animnals in my town on a bi weekly basis, rabies combind with very stupid deer and narrow twisting wood lined roads make for many targets. An air rifle would not be effective. Better to use somthing like a 3006. You dont need to hit the thing with a round that size to kill it. You just fire at the treet alongside adn the shock will stun it for quite a while.
