The Unexplainable

What would you do if every time you IMed someone, you felt some sort of emotion from them, no matter where you were, no matter what computer you were on? What would you do if everytime they put *hugs* on the screen, it really felt like they did? What would you do if you both thought that you needed to meet -- and would? Not to mention that your prsonalities would interact so perfectly with each other that it is simply eerie.
I felt this way about an hour and a half ago...and am curious as to what others would think of this.

You've talked. It's not hard to see how you can get a "vibe" about someone from talking to them, without needing any mystical explanations.

That would revolutionise internet-porn, to say the least.

What if I were to add on that this was within the first ten seconds of the conversation, again, via IM....and we have never spoken to each other via phone or face-to-face.....I have never met this person.
[EDIT] In addition, every time you "speak" to them, you get a different vibe about them....what they are feeling....what their emotions are. And you are correct about 90% of the time.

Do you have a history of interactions with this person?

Just via IM, and through online journal.

Online journal as in on someone's website or something?

Sort of; the online journal is where you basically post a journal and others can post comments in it for you to read. Kind of like your own personal message board for your life. This is how I met this person.

If you are serious about meeting, then go ahead, and proceed with caution like always.
And remember those stories: guy goes to meet girl he found on internet, to find out that she's actually a 70-year old.
To summarize: Go ahead but prepare well and tread with caution. Make sure it fits into your friend's schedule as well as yours.

All this I realize.....now I just have to come up with the funds to do it....*sigh*

I`m really sorry, I completely misunderstood what this thread was about. You do know how to meet a person in a situation like this, I hope. Meet in a public place, make sure that someone knows where you`re going and why. I would be cautious in the EXTREME, cuz you really never know.

Okay, so you don't understand what I am talking about. Get the fuck over it. If you don't understand it, why the fuck do you respond to it?

Furthermore, how the FUCK is it a lucky guess 90 FUCKING PERCENT OF THE TIME?

Because
a) The idea that you can 'sense' someone's emotions despite being only connected by a variety of fiber optic cables is absurd
b) The person may be lying about what his emotions are
c) You asked what others thought about it. I told you.

Well, you know what? Maybe you can't, but I can.

Cyril, logic has no place in determining what a person feels. Verilon feels that, then he feels that. Logic has no place in that.
If you feel otherwise, then leave verilon alone.

Right. I'll just keep in mind that when someone asks for another's opinion, he really only wants to hear 'Yes, that's great' and 'Of course, that's perfect'.

Well, you know what? I happen to feel like shit when my friend Yin feels like shit in North Carolina....often times before we have gotten into more than 10 secs of the conversation. For me, AIM is a lot like real life. You have to submit that there will always be some sort of illogic, no matter how logic the world is. It will always be there.
