I find Jackson's quote to be quite funny, but it's very, very true.Following the attack on the World Trade Center on 11 September 2001, and because of the similarity between the buildings' nickname, "The Twin Towers", and the movie's title, "The Two Towers", the director and producers briefly considered renaming the second movie in the trilogy. They eventually decided against it, Peter Jackson's main reason being that, "fans would kill me".

No, the petition wasn't a joke--some people turned it into that, but it wasn't. The "50 Reasons" were a joke, but this, alas, was not. I got this addy from the '50 Reasons LOTR Sucks" thread; there are two others sites listed, where someone originally learned of the existence of the petition, and where there is a counter-petition. This one is dead, though, I believe. *phew* Stupidity rests. At least, this case does.
It looked like more than 2/3 of the signatures (out of about 3500 I think?) were fake, but that means that 1/3 were still for real! Ack. People amaze me. They just keep on getting dumber.....or should I say, dummer?
