My dad did a term of service in the Navy. I look at his navy id when he was 19 years old and compare it to a picture of me a 19, and its almost the same person.

The whole story behind the name ageranger is pretty funny. If you didnt see it talks about how in Veitnam, when the age driver would go to pick up a piece of equipment, VC would take pot shots at them, sometimes hitting their target. Well the drivers started going in pairs of two, both with guns. One would go latch up to a unit, the other would cover. When the Security Police would see the drivers pass by with their guns in the truck, they would say, "There goes thos agerangers again" and the name stuck

Yeah, I've heard plenty of grumbling within the family about how off most military portrayals are. My grandfather was Army in WWII, my uncle was Navy, my father works for LockMart and works with the military, and my cousin was Army in Desert Storm. Military life's nothing like what they show (although I did like Major Dad, funny stuff).

I was a mechanic in the service; nothing any different form what I did in the real world...
