Here's the scenario Starfleet decides to hold a wargames in a remote sector of the AQ with the officers during the TOS-ST VI Era (Some technobabble involving chronaton particles and some polarity shit gets them here) Both sides get an equal amount of all modern ships (TOS guys will be briefed on it specs and preformance abilitys)
Each side gets 1 Sovereign (Command ship), 3 Galaxy (Backup Command ships), 5 Akira, 5 Steamerunner, 12 Saber, 5 Excelsior, 7 Miranda, and 2 Defiant
Here are the important CO to command the 4 Command Ships:
TOS-TMP Era
Captain Kirk
Captain Sulu
Capatin Spock
And That Fleet Captain Garth of not sure (He not insane here, he's fully comptent)
TNG Era
Captain Picard
Captain Jellico
Captain Sisko (Assuming he not with the Prophets)
and Data
I don't know how to post a poll and I'm to lazy to find it right now I hoping for a repsonse. I will be back soon

TOS ensines will take it. They've cut their teeth on idiots like like DS9 ensines, and are used to taking action without heavy Federation backup.

Classic redshirts rule, they died for a noble kickass Federation, and they died with honor.
TNG Redshirts die by exploding panels pussies!

TOS takes it all the way. Unlike those post DW pussies, Kirk and crew weren't complete idiots.

Are you sure the TOS crews can't have their original ships?

by Mike_6002
Yes NecronLord they have to use the modern ships, but we still got our Miranda's and Excelsior's and there classic, but if you like I will allow some one to use Federation(Dreadnought)/Saladin(Destroyer)/Hermes(Scout) [All pre-fit] to be substutied for any number of modren ships
But Kirk can have his Enterprise-A (Kick ass ship allright) if he wants instead of a Sovergien
Note it in your post under a new heading

Hey, you set up an honest question, without bias. Of course we'll treat it civilly.

Captain Jelico was not pussy. He was one of the best TNG-era Starfleet officers there has ever been.

I'll give that to TOS. Apart from Jellico, they have no serious (i.e. non moronic) opposition.
Oh, and by the way:

Do the TOS officers have any time to familiarize themselves with their new ships?

Two weeks, they will have to learn to manage on there own to operate these pleasure craft with guns
But don't forget I will allow substutions of some ships so that may even the BoP to the TOS
I very open to suggestions

Briefing is not the same as actual training time.

The TNG crews will have an advantage because they're more familiar with the capabilities of their ships. But clearly, the TOS crews had better tactical minds. TOS takes it.
