Anachronism -- Choose Your Time

If you had to choose a time period in the past to spend the rest of your life in, which one would it be?

I'm perfectly happy with the present. People have more rights, I think overall we're less frightened of each other (barring morons, as always), and our standards of living are far higher than any other time in human history. Even a hundred years ago life was miserable for 99.9% of the people by most modern people's standards.

Ten years ago. I'd like to go back, put some money in dot.com, and then bail out just before the whole thing comes crashing down. Never have to work again in my entire life.

I occasionally think the 1940s would've been okay (keeping in mind, of course, that being a white guy, I wouldn't have been faced with a lot of the shit that minorities were.) But then I think about things like that, the nostalgia wears off, and I settle for drinking nineteen 40's of Mickeys. lol

A few years into the future. Maybe about five or ten, at the most. But for the greater part, now is fine.

A real gambler -- how do you know the future won't be worse? Besides, we're all going there whether we like it or not. lol

And the nice thing about those days was, you really knew your king, didn't you? He was the guy who didn't have shit all over him, out in the countryside repressin' people. You really got to know your politicians
personally in those days...

Money didn't mean shit, no; they mostly used pointy sticks and sharp pieces of metal to make their point.

OMFG ROFL...
Sorry, but money meant a LOT back then. Potentially even more than it does now.

And with no Plague, mind you.
