Losing stuff is annoying

I just lost a jacket ~3 days ago, and I just lost my 130$ TI-83 my nice summer school teacher gave (not loaned) me. I've only had it for <3 months. This pisses me off, losing and forgetting every single detail. When playing volleyball, I can't even keep my eye on the ball for 30 seconds. The average lifetime of a writing implement before it gets lost is a week, so I can't use mechanical pencils. I really need to be on adderall but my religious mother believes that if I just 'pray to god' everything will be fine, and my new psychiatrist won't give me any (I have to switch psychiatrists every few months for some reason, and now I'm switching again).
I won't mention ADHD at the risk of being labeled as not being able to take responsibility.

Just because you have ADHD doesn't mean that you're psychotic.
I have ADHD.
A TI-83 for $130?!

No I am also EDD. I don't know the price of a TI83+, my teacher gave it to me.

You can get one for about $75, probably even less than that.

naw, what's worse: being scatterbrained, hyperactive, and with a shot short term memory... yes, i lose track of conversations while i'm in them...
if you've ever seen the movie "memento" you know already about how i am.

Yes, I can relate to that
Just recently, I have apparently lost the receipt for a 50-55 US$ portable stereo. While slimming down my wallet, I recall specifically putting it aside just in case I needed to have it repaired (which I do now). It's not essential as it turns out, but it's the principle that bothers me. I keep telling myself "What if I lose an airline ticket?" and such. An extreme analogy, I know, but it makes disturbing sense when you wake up at 4am.

I do the same thing. I also start to reply to posts here and then forget what I had to say. I've also forgotten my roommate's name twice, but luckily not while he was around. At least I haven't forgotten
my name (yet).

I forget stuff all the time, exept it's mostly people. Every day people walk by me and call out "Hi, Henry!" and wave, and I have no idea who they are. I decide to say something and forget about it by the time I get to do it. I forget names a lot, even those of my close friends. Thank god for pronouns when that happens. I don't often lose objects, though.

I bought my TI-89, 4 years ago, for roughly $160.
Buy one. Trust me, they're worth it and will safely get you through college, while a puny TI-83 would be headed to the trashbin by the end of the first semester.
The TI-92 does exactly the same, is heavier and costs more. On the upside, it has a larger screen and a qwerty keyboard. While the keyboard is handier, nothing beats the direct connection between the computer and the calculator (a must buy), so, in the end, I think the TI-89 is a better purchase.

Yup, I don't know what I'd do in some of my classes if I couldn't play Tetris and Super Mario Bros. on my TI-85. I love it that I can use an innocent looking calculator as a gameboy.

what i really can't stand is loosing stuff when they could have only been in one place, and when I find them, they're in a place where they never could have ended up.
I once discovered I had lost a clear orange model part from one of my unfinished Japanese kits. I had been keeping it in a plastic bag inside a drawer, and I hadn't taken it out for days. I was positive I had'nt done anything with it, but I looked arong the whole room and workspace for.
You know where it turns out it was? Across the room under a couch cusion. I never fucking brought it near the couch, let alone dropped it down and forgot about it.
It's frustrating, but it's better than never finding it, I guess. Let's not get into how Spanky lost our 1/100 Chris Makenzie pilot, eh?

That's nothin', sonny! When I was a lad, I lost a haystack in a needle! (/old geezer)
I have a really annoying tendency to leave my gym bag at school. It's only when I'm on the bus and halfway home when I notice I left it there. Perhaps it's because I'm in a hurry to get out of the class.
