College application

Post by Uraniun235 »

I'm applying online for a college I want to go to. Part of the application is the Planned Course of Study.

When I scroll to Computer Science, I notice a (B.A.) and a (B.S.) entry for it.

What is the difference?

Well, B.A. is bachelor of arts while B.S. is bachelor of science. What school is it for?

The real question is, What do you like more? Arts (language, history) or Science (physics and biology and chemistry). Most of my friends that graduated with Comp Science had a BA because it's easier to take english classes. Don't worry too much about it now. You are just applying. I bet you will change your major by the time you are done. It's just so they can set up a bunch of classes for you to take.
When do you start college?

Yeah, 'round my school, a B.S. in comp sci means that, in addition to the B.A. requirements, you have to take general physics, in addition to some high end classes that I won't take for a few more years anyway. Since I like physics, I figured I'd shoot for it.

Where I am, a BA requires four semester of a foreign language, and a BS requires four extra math/science courses depending on major (not sure exactly, since I'm a BA student).

Sign up for the one where the courses are harder to get into. That way, you can get someone to help you into the class if you can't get in, because it's required for your major. Then if you change your mind, you can switch easily.
