I'd say a few dozen handguns, some rifles, 20 shotguns, a few AK-47s, a greanade launcher, and a rocket launcher, some obtained illegaly.

Hmm....
I'd imagine Shep owns:

Probably around 5 Revolvers (I don't think he's much of a Revolver-lover), 20 semi-automatic handguns ranging from 1911 over Luger and P38 to Desert Eagle, 4 or 5 machine pistols (like the Beretta 93R or the Glock 18 first edition with real full auto not the 3 shot burst only), ca 15 submachine guns (including MP-40, Thompson with 100 round drum mag and MP-5K), approximately 25 assault rifles including various Kalashnikov and M16 variants and the super-rare revolutionary STG-44, 15 semi-automatic rifles including civilian variants of military issues like the AR-15, 20 bolt-action rifles ranging from historic ones like the K-98, to present-day sniper rifles like the M-24, next up are around 20 machine guns including light ones (RPK), mediums (MG-42) and heavys (Browning HMG .50).
Additionally ca 30 assorted shotguns , 4 grenade launchers, 7 LAWs, 1 WWII Russian Anti-Tank rifle (I've forgotten the name), and 1 stinger launcher.

At least that's what I imagine.

Yes at some point I myself would love a K98, BAR and STG-44 weapons, as I've handled(IE Fired and Cleaned) all of them and they are quite nice

Isn't the K98 rifle still made as sporting rifle?
Read in weapons of the 20th Century when it was made in the late 70's

If you're looking for a K-98 it's best to look here in Germany.
You see them regularly, though not frequently, for sale at flea markets, and they're priced around 150-500 Euro depending on the condition (one time I even saw the long version, first series, for 1200 Euros. Well, it was still 2400 DM back then).
The wooden stocks are often in bad shape, though.

I doubt Shep has any guns, however I woundn't rule out Rambo's exploding arrows for one of his bows.

Actually, I know how to acquire guns using my l33t homebuilt boobytraps,
up to a claymore mine...
