I listen to the Imperial March, and while I think it would be fun and cool as hell to play, I shudder at the really rapid tonguing that has to be accomplished.

Bah, humbug. You just need a hell of a lot of low brass and a snare player.
No nececitamos los stringos!

(I've actually done a couple arrangements of it for marching band. Bwahaha!)

We played it in Jr. high school orchestra(same year ESB came out!), all we had were 5 violins, 1 viola, 2 cellos, and me and my friend Scott on bass. Sounded good.

Try pulling off Marche Slave with 20-30 violins, three violas, six cellos, and three basses....And me being the only decent viola player....When the melody rolls around in the viola section....well.....TONE....

Actually, it was Level 5 music (in fact, it had been played at All-State two years previous). We took it to the statewide "competition" and got 1's on it across the board. (Well, we got a 1- form one judge, but that's beside the point.)

*applause* Well done. It's a kickass piece.

And a I- is still a I, for the record. So, yay. :D

Yes, it is! *beam* And we played a six-page piece we spent EIGHT WEEKS on learning. My freshman year. Got two Is and a II (from the hard judge). Duplet on top of triplets....AUGH!

I still can't imagine it sounding as good without the horns in it. It should sound good up until the horns' part. lol
