Phantasmal lights

A couple nights ago I was trying to go to sleep when a bright light suddenly appeared in my vision, distracting me. The light was bright yellow and seemed to come from the wall above the head of my bed. I shouldn't have seen anything, though. My eyes were closed, as were the door to my room and blackout curtains. The light appeared repeatedly, which was most irritating. Has this happened to anyone else?

lol. No, sorry.....but I have seen blinking lights before, out of the corner of my eye (while NOT sleep depping, mind you).

Ever see "Shadow People"?

Dark, shadowy figures that lurk about your home..

You'll rarely see them directly...but always out of the corner of your eyes.

I see them in motel rooms.

It helps if you don't make yourself bold and red.

[conspiracy theorist] AAAAAH, ORBITAL MIND CONTROL FRISBEES ARE BEAMING SHADOW PEOPLE INTO YOUR ROOM. YOU'RE GONNA DIE!
[/conspiracy theorist]

Actually, chances are it's something called a hypnagogic hallucination. This is an artifact of brain activity taking place as you transition from a waking state to a sleeping state. It may seem real, and is sufficiently distracting to wake you back up. However, it's not real . . . it's all in your head.

Another thing it could be is it's just your brain generating random noise to fill in the lack of sensory information you're getting from your eyes.

Bah, the Vorlons will just stand back and let us die just so they can prove that order is superior (as if they haven't got a hint from Thermodynamics yet)

Quiet, noob! Do not dare insult the Vorlons! We all hope they will protect us from the Shadows.

Can't say as I have had anything like that kind of experience... Are you sure you weren't dreaming it?

It's probably just your brain shining a flashlight in your face. You can oslve this by reaching up your nose and pulling the flashlight away from your brain. However, your brain might fight, because it might want to keep it.

It's me spying on everyone through astral projection.

So remember,

I'll be watching you...
