Q1:If you had to choose the manner of your death, to pass in one hour, what would it be? (No old age)
Would you be alone? Would your friends be there? Where (location) would it be?
Q2: What way would you least like to die?
Q3:Is there anything worse then knowing the exact moment of your death before it happened?
Q4: If you could be reincarnated as any Sci-Fi/Fantasy or videogame hero who would it be and why?

1) Instant brain death, unpainful, fast.
2)Asphaxication(or however you spell it), I nearly experianced it once, I have no wish to do so again.
3) so I know my death time? so what?
4) Seriously? Karen S'jet the fleet command of Homeworld(though preferably in a male form), the sheer INFORMATION.

1 - in my sleep like my uncle. not screaming like the passengers in his car as they went over the cliff. [/morbid joke mode]
2 - most plausible death that could happen to me that i wouldn't want is asphyxiation.
3 - eh. i'd just as soon not know when i die. either way it's not like knowing when i'm going to die would make too much of a difference if it was just a few moments before it happened.
4 - hrrrrm. . . .not a clue as most heroes i'd want to be reincarnated as fall more under fantasy than sci-fi.

1-Quick, painless, preferably in my sleep. No slow cancer or anything like that. Or, failing that, being killed in a missle ship while serving my country.
2-No asphyxiation or drowning.
3-Doesn't really matter either way
4-James Bond.

1 - In my sleep, of course.
2 - Any number of inventive Medieval torture techniques, asphyxiation, antifreeze poisoning, etc.
3 - Not sure, considering I don't have precognition.
4 - Too many possibilities to count
Alan Thomas, from a story I've been writing (more brainstorming than writing, actually).

On a nice and very comfortable bed with a beautiful chick. We'll be fucking and the next thing I'll know is, she bites into my neck like a vampire and she'll fuck me til I bleed to death.
Q2: What way would you least like to die?
Any form that leads my body; dismember, torn apart, crushed, etc. You get the idea.
Q3:Is there anything worse then knowing the exact moment of your death before it happened?
Duh, not doing what I want done before I go.

2. I think fire would be a bad way
3. That would be the ultimate punishment
4. Nameless one from Planscape Torment

I would like to fade away slowly in a bed with my friends and family surrounding me. I want to take the time to thank and praise each of them for being in my life. This is how I'd like to die ultimately.
Locutus_8472 wrote:Q2: What way would you least like to die?
Dismemberment and mutilation scare the shit out of me, and not being able to breath is the worst pain imaginable to me.
Locutus_8472 wrote:Q3:Is there anything worse then knowing the exact moment of your death before it happened?
The exact moment of someone elses death.
Locutus_8472 wrote:Q4: If you could be reincarnated as any Sci-Fi or videogame hero who would it be and why?
Oh, excellent, this takes the sting off dying. To many choices though.

1. Run over by a Semi driven by the Incredible Hulk [/Bender]
2. See "Aliens". You'll know which cause of death I'm referring to.
3. While it would be convenient knowing how long I have to plan my awesome funeral (see Ideal Funeral thread), or come up with a new one in case the cause of death involves vaporization, disintigration, or something to that effect, I'd rather not spoil the surprise.
4. Boba Fett, because he is t3h shit (I know he isn't technically a hero, but I'd still pick him)

I would love to spontanously combust on the crosstown bus. I'd just be sitting there, talking to some old lady-- if I could manage it, something about stories of people spontanously combusting-- and then flames would burst forth from my skin and I would begin to burn. Either that, or jump out of an airplane or very high place without a parachute.
I wouldn't like to die because of something stupid or clumsy I did, especially if no one else was involved. Imagine for a moment that there is an afterlife. One might ask me how I died. "Uh, I was trying to get something from a high shelf and it fell over, spilling everything on to me. How was I supposed to know the boxes were all filled with extra-sharp knives?"
To manage the first situation I mention, it would be ideal to know the exact moment of my death. That way, I could plan it. Maybe I could bring along a few good friends and we could have some fun with it. I mean, if I'm gonna die anyway, why not give others some entertainment?
Question 4 is slightly random. I suppose it'd be fun to to be reincarnated as any random character in the Star Wars universe. Or maybe the ball in Pong. Yes, I think being the ball in Pong would be fun. Or a pixel on Gordan Freeman in HL2.

Locutus_8472 wrote:Q1:If you had to choose the manner of your death, to pass in one hour, what would it be? (No old age)
Something instant. But that would be one horrible hour. The way I figure it death would probably basically be permanent unconsciousness. You won't mind it once it's happened, but knowing its going to happen at an appointed time would be absolute hell.
Would you be alone? Would your friends be there? Where (location) would it be?
Don't particularly care, as long its instant and I never see it coming.
Q2: What way would you least like to die?
I can think of a couple of things. Tortured to death and flayed alive are probably near the top. Throw in having half my skin burned off in a nuclear explosion and lingering for hours before finally dying of third degree burns. After that an illness that will kill me in a period of months or several years and for which there is no hope of a cure would also be pretty horrible to me.
Q3:Is there anything worse then knowing the exact moment of your death before it happened?
Depends. If I knew exactly when I was going to die sixty years from now that wouldn't be so bad. But knowing you're going out in a few months or years, and there's nothing I could do about it... I think I might as well just jump off a high building and get it over with.

Would you be alone? Would your friends be there? Where (location) would it be?
I've thought about this a lot before the thread surfaced. If I were to die one hour from now it would be by my own hand. I'll spare you the details of that. But because of this, I would want to be completely alone. I can't imagine making those close to me watch.
Assuming for the moment I make it to old age, that's a completely different story. In that scenario I want the last thing I feel to be a hand. Someone's hand. If I'm married, his hand. If I'm not, a close friend or family member. Just a hand of someone I loved.
Q2: What way would you least like to die?
The worst death imaginable to me would be an accident. If I die from being sick, or from old age, or even intentionally, the people I leave behind will have an easier time accepting it. I don't want anyone I leave to be left questioning, because that's the hardest thing in the world. Losing someone and knowing it wasn't supposed to happen. In case you haven't noticed, throughout this entire thing I'm more concerned about the people who have to live after I'm gone.
Q3:Is there anything worse then knowing the exact moment of your death before it happened?
Depends on what you mean. I can't think of anything
better than knowing that I'm going to die on October 18, 2059, at 2330. I wish I knew that. There are so many things you wouldn't have to be afraid of anymore. And that way, not only do you have enough time to prepare all of your things, you have time to prepare everyone around you. There's no going to wake Grandma up for breakfast and discovering that she's not going to wake up anymore. There's enough time to make sure everyone around you knows how much they meant to you and that they're ready for it.
Question 4 I'm ignoring. Detracts from the seriousness of the conversation.

1) Massive opiate overdose; a little pleasure, then unconsciousness, then death.
I'd rather be alone, my dying should not be theater.
2) Burning to death.
3) Maybe knowing the exact moment of death for everyone you care about and being unable to do anything?
4) Eh, I'd rather not suffer being reincarnated as anything but myself.

Q1: Ground zero of nuclear strike.
In Washington DC.
Q2: Oldness.
Q3: Countless things. I wouldn't even consider that to be bad.
Q4: err... wtf? Majin Buu, perhaps. For psychotic infinite power. If that's too much, Mecha Sonic [the hedgehog].

I have my head blown apart with a 00 buckshot 12 gauge shell.
Would you be alone? Would your friends be there? Where (location) would it be?
Yes. Why should anyone I care about have to suffer?
Q2: What way would you least like to die?
Maybe drowning or suffocation. I'm ruling out the torturous endings like a Columbian necktie or drawing and quartering, obviously.
Q3:Is there anything worse then knowing the exact moment of your death before it happened?
Assuming it was my destiny and I couldn't change it? Then it would make no difference.
Q4: If you could be reincarnated as any Sci-Fi or videogame hero who would it be and why?
Now that you've gone and gotten me all morbid, I won't be getting into this.

In my sleep in my bed, with noone there.
Q2: What way would you least like to die?
Crucifixion, in a gradually filling cesspit, with my eyes delicately pulled out of their sockets so i would be forced to watch my genitals and general perianal area be mutilated. Maybe have an army of rodents forced into my intestines where they die too.
Q3:Is there anything worse then knowing the exact moment of your death before it happened?
Yeah. There's lots of worse things.
Q4: If you could be reincarnated as any Sci-Fi or videogame hero who would it be and why?
Duke Nukem! Stripper fun in a post apocalyptic near future setting, blowing away pigcops and fighting the alien scourge.

1) I'm halfway tempted to say, in bed, with a blonde on one side, a brunette on the other and a redhead in the middle, but that's rather odd.
No, I think my answer would be, I'd rather die doing something else I enjoy, I'd like to die of Absinthism. And having written down all my "discoveries" during said intoxicated times.
No family would be there, and I would only want one friend there, the guy whose been like a brother to me for the past 16 years. He'd be the only other one to understand why I want to go out that way.
Barring that, in my bed, alone. I want it to happen, where I simply close my eyes, and the moment it happens, I pass on.
2) Some slow, painful way. I don't want that. No asphyxiation, no burned alive, no medievil tortures, etc.
3) It doesn't matter, I have to die sooner or later. The only thing I know now is when I will die.
4) Odo from DS9. Cause I think it'd be cool to be able to shapeshift and completely fuck with people's minds.

1. Bullet in the head. Unless that's more painful than I think it is.
2. Being put somewhere really cold in Siberia until I either freeze or starve to death.
3. It depends when the date is. If it's in an hour, I can't imagine many worse things. If it's in 30 years, then it's not that bad.
4. I dunno.

1) Quick and painless (Preferrably in my sleep).
2) Being buried alive..or what happened to that evil dude in the beginning of "The Mummy"
3) Not that I can think of...
4) Hugh Hefner (They actually made a playboy game)

1) Much like Rye, I'll take my death between a pair of warm sheets in my humble apartment/crackerbox house ome time in my seventies or eighties, alone in family and company.
2) Explosive decompression, that clay baking bit someone mentioned in the Chiling TV/Movie Moments thread, or a sudden fit of narcolepsy while I'm eating or drinking something.
3) That's a terror beyond terrors - though it'd be interesting to see if maybe there was a way I could cheat death (though I then suppose that I'd wind up having to dodge wierd shit left and right as it tries to hit the mark)
4) Two choices:
A) A Reploid Marine Sergeant I used to do RPing as in the Mega Man X timeline (technically, he is a hero - saved the life of the US president, among other things) [/wank]
B) The Neraverine (sp?) from The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and its expansions [/mindless mashing]

Execution. Egh.

1) A blaze of glory'd be nice. Especially if it involves a posthumous MoH.
2) Being stabbed with a rusty nail and then tied down in a prison cell or something to that effect.
3) Yeah, there's a lot worse. If you know when and how you'll die, then you can do damn near anything else in the meantime. And I don't see why you'd be completely unable to avoid a timely demise, especially if it's something ridiculously easy to avoid like a plane crash.
4) The Master Chief. That way, I could potentially fulfill my first answer.

1.) Probably something interesting. Last thing I'm going to feel, might as well make it worth feeling.
2.)Sickness. Too long and drawn out.
3.) Knowing when I die? This either happens because I try to avoid it or is inevitable. Makes no difference.
4.) I echo the idea of being resurrected as part of a vessel.
