Wish granted?

Have you ever made a wish and had it come true?
You can interpret 'wish' either like the 'magical, upon-a-star' kind of wish, or as a dream or life goal that has come true (the 'I-can-die-now-that-I've-done-blah kind of wish).
I have two and will post them shortly, if this thread doesn't get locked because someone did it before I got here.

Happened to me a few times...
Got *exactly* what I asked for.

I don't think so.
But I've never really wished for anything before.

There's realistic wishes that are "wished for" based on existing evidence or trends and then there's pipe dreams of the delusional. I try to stick to the former but occasionally amuse myself with the latter.

*chuckle* Thanks, Bean.
Ok, first one: when I was 7 or 8, I wished I had green eyes. I don't know why, but my blue ones just weren't good enough. Anyway, I was a romantic kid and every night I'd watch for the first star and say the little rhyme "Star light, star bright," etc etc and then wish for green eyes. I did this for over a year (I'm a bit stubborn, btw) and they changed to green.
Makes me sort of wish that I had wished for something a little more..err...important. Or noticable, anyway.
Second one (this one's one of those realistic ones): I'd wanted to go to Australia since I was 12, and I finally went for about 6 months in 2000. That's the first of those things on my life's to-do list that I can scratch off. Makes me feel invincible when I think about how I made that dream come true, because I know so many people who only think about theirs and never make them happen.

Cool.
For me....nope...well sorta glad given the few times I've wished for death...but that's another story.

That sounds like something Scott Adams talked about in one of his Dilbert books. He used to write on a sheet of paper every day that one day he'd write a world famous comic strip. The idea was that he effected the future with his mind.

Not everybody on the board claims to be human or admits to the contrary.

It totally
was weird. Still is, really. Now, when I wear blue clothing, my eyes get a hint of blue to them, but they're normally completely green. It's strange. I'm sure there's some kind of scientific explanation somewhere....? *shrug* Whatev.

On some days I think to myself "Why are there so many freakin' idiots around? I wish that they'd just freakin' go away and die". Statistically speaking, people die every day, and among the people that die are the idiots that I speak of in my "wish". Thus in a technical sense my wish comes true every day.

Wishes can come true if you ask for something reasonable. When I was young, I wished for a soul-mate. I found one. If I had wished for something stupid like global absolute power, then I would still be waiting (either that, or I would be Bill Gates).

Last night, my roomate and I were watching the old GI Joe cartoon. He asked, "I wonder who Cobra Commander really was?"
I answered, "Bill Gates."
On the subject of wishes: it is just as rational to depend on a wish alone as it is to rely on prayer to make something happen. Which is not me saying that that I haven't made the occasional wish now and again....the lottery jackpot being one.

Well... I once upon a time I wished I had a girl friend...
Guess what happened...

Of course, a wish doesn't actually make itself come true, but I guess it doesn't hurt

Well,my knowledge of biology is a bit rusted but as far as I know eyes color may change in some cases.Of course it is not very common.
edit
The cause is genetics,in case you were curious.

Its a rare occurance, now I'm going to end up thinking about that until I've thought up of a valid solution.
Well Zaia, hope and patience is all that one can do to service the ends. As for me, I'll just keep on praying that I get a penguin one of these days...

A few wishes I've made have failed. A few others have come true. Swings both ways.

I have wished for a lot, one of which will eventually come true, another *hopefully* come true (*nudgenudgeZaia*), and my wish to finally just be away from my family has come true.
