Legos: I had a some cool space sets. I have most of my legos still but lost the instructions long ago.
On of my favorites was a mobile missle launcher. It looked like one of the medium range missles we had in Europe during the cold war.

Probably Star Wars toys for me. Remember getting my Millenium Falcon in 1980 -- I was the pride of the neighborhood until the rich kid down the street got not only the AT-AT, but the Deathstar set as well.

Most of the legos now are not so good. A few years back they were making a Rescue squad series. I bought one of them for my book case. It was cool.

Have any of you looked on EBay for some of the lego sets you had as a kid?
I was surprised to find a bunch of them for sale with the box and everything.

Did anyone ever play with Lite-Brites?
Anyways, I LOVED the Legos that you made the cars and things that moved battery-operated, lol....and the things with the plastic bubbles (I forget the name) that you could make floating things, cars, etc...
[EDIT] Capsela.

Legos. Was there anything you could do with them? I mean you could build just about anything you wanted out of them. I've still got mine. And have the big pirate ships sitting on a shelf in my room at home.

Legos and wooden blocks.
My wife says that I play with them now more than my son. I can't get enough of the stuff!

Another random rememberance: Rubik's Cubes, Magna-Doodles, and Etch-a Sketches.
And yes, Lite-Brite pieces are eternally hidden between baseboards and carpet....

Space lego and Star Wars toys. My brother and I had a huge collection of Star Wars toys. That is until my mother gave them away to a FUCKING church charity. Damn. It still hurts. Interestingly enough, lego men were quite well scaled for the AT-AT. Now they have Star Wars lego and all is right. I just need more room for it.

"The Marvelous Toy" by Peter Paul and Mary:
When I was just a wee little lad,
Full of health and joy,
My father homeward came one night
And gave to me a toy.
A wonder to behold it was
With many colors bright
And the moment I laid eyes on it,
It became my heart's delight.
Refrain:
It went "Zip" when it moved and "Pop" when it stopped,
"Whirrr" when it stood still
I never knew just what it was and I guess I never will.
The first time that I picked it up
I had a big surprise
Cause right on the bottom were two big buttons
That looked like big green eyes
I first pushed one and then the other,
Then I twisted its lid
And when I set it down again, here is what it did:
(Refrain)
It first marched left, and then marched right
And then marched under a chair
And when I looked where it had gone
It wasn't even there
I started to cry, but my daddy laughed
'Cause he knew that I would find,
When I turned around my marvelous toy
Would be chugging from behind.
(Refrain)
The years have gone by too quickly it seems,
I have my own little boy
And yesterday I gave to him
My marvelous little toy:
His eyes nearly popped right out of his head
And he gave a squeal of glee!
Neither one of us knows just what it is
But he loves it just like me!
It still goes... (refrain)
I wish I had that toy...
