What quotes do you you like? I've heard a few, and I was hoping we could start a fund of quotes for everyone to draw on.

We've already got Dalton's excellent FUQ. Why do we need another?

I love quotes in general and have several lists with an uncountable amount of quotes but here is a few of my favorites :
"I don't get headaches. I give them to people."
~Mariel Anne Vassai
"Maybe they know what I know, that the true way to a man's heart is six inches of metal between his ribs. Sometimes four inches will do the job, but to be really sure, I like to have six." -Anita Blake, Narcissus in Chains
(I don't really know why I like that quote since I will probably be the target of that quote one day.. )
But insanity had never stopped anyone else becoming Emperor, had it? The thirteenth Emperor had made a small fruit tree his Minister of Defence after all, and hardly anyone had complained. But then, compared to most of the other Ministers at the time, the fruit tree was probably the most efficient of the lot. It was the only one never to try to seize power for itself.
Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.
~Elbert Hubbard
Happiness is not so much in having as sharing. We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.
~Norman MacEwan
"My friend, if I could give you one thing, I would wish for you the ability to see yourself as others see you. Then you would realize what a truly special person you are."
-- B. A. Billingsly
"I don't wish to be everything to everyone, but I would like to be something to someone."
-- Javan
"Animals are reliable, many full of love, true in their affections, predictable in their actions, grateful and loyal. Difficult standards for people to live up to."
-- Alfred A. Montapert
"Love is dead. I killed him. What can I say? It was pure self-defense. He was trying to shoot me with his bow."
"The brain is a wonderful organ; it starts working the moment you get up in the morning and does not stop until you get into the office."
-Robert Frost
"Choose your friends by their character and your socks by their color. Choosing your socks by their character makes no sense, and choosing your friends by their color is unthinkable."
-Anon.
"I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that don’t work."
-Thomas Alva Edison
"You don't love a woman because she is beautiful, but she is beautiful because you love her."

Hey, you know, I wrote that. In my first book. That's why it's otherwise not a credited quote in my sig.

"Love is an irresistable desire to be irresistably desired." Robert Frost

Love is one of those things that can dump you into the blackest pits of despair and raise you to the highest peaks of ecstasy. At once.

Anything Jack Handeyish... like...
"Anytime I see something screech across a room and latch onto someone's neck, and the guy screams and tries to get it off, I have to laugh, because what is that thing?"
"Life, to me, is like a quiet forest pool, one that needs a direct hit from a big rock half-buried in the ground. You pull and you pull, but you can't get the rock out of the ground. So you give it a good kick, but you lose your balance and go skidding down the hill toward the pool. Then out comes a big Hawaiian man who was screwing his wife beside the pool because they thought it was real pretty. He tells you to get out of there, but you start faking it, like you're talking Hawaiian, and then he gets mad and chases you... "

Oh, totally! Ewo, you know every time I heard a Jack Handeyism I think of you now.
One of my personal favourites is one that you made up in Jack Handey-style. I know I'm going to screw it up, but it's the 'chances are, you're a loser' one. Know which one I'm yammering about?
ESB~Thanks, darlin', I think she's pretty damn cute too.

Ha! I said it something like "For every winner, there are 20,000 losers... chances are, you're a loser" which was largely based on a bike race I was watching, but I stole it from the demotivators site...

Just so you know, that one is my alter ego speaking: Mariel is a character I use in my writing.
