I don't know for sure why Bean deleted the thread, but ordinarily users have to be nominated by another mod in order to become a mod. It's not like being banned, labelled a VI, or given another custom title. You must be nominated, the other moderators must be okay with it, and THEN we go to the board to confirm the appointment.

That makes sense.....but the thing is, no one (ie Bean) said anythign about that.

IIRC, it was deleted before she got online and made a response to it. Besides, that shouldn't matter.

Wait, what? We should force people to be mods against their will? I initially turned down the promotion to moderator, and the others honored my request. It was only when I was asked by a second moderator that I decided to accept.

Oops! I worded that badly. I meant, I think the thread should have been long enough for her to state her opinion on the matter, at the least. Sorry about that!

Kelly doesn't want to be a Mod. She told me so via a PM conversation, and gave several good reasons, which I'll leave to her to decide whether or not to post.

Okay, everyone, it's clear that Kelly does not WANT to be a mod, so I think we should respect her decision. That's almost certainly why Bean deleted the thread--he and Kelly had exchanged PM's and she had declined the offer.

I don't recall ever making such a suggestion. And Kelly's feelings on this matter make it a moot point anyway.

Bean never said anything to me about this. AND, I never saw the original thread in the first place.

Second, I don't think I'd make a good mod anyway. I'm not around as much as 90% of the average posters anymore.

Things got very much out of hand. I apologize for yelling, but it really hurt me that so many people were speaking for me and didn't even THINK about giving me a chance to defend myself.

So, if I am made a mod, it's only because the others may see that I am right for the job, no matter what I think. And hopefully someone will come to me about it instead of it being dragged across the board without me having a chance to say otherwise.

God, this is probably very rambling and makes no sense. I'm too damn tired to read back over it and make any sense.
