Besides humans Ants and Termites are generally thought to be the only species to make organized war. So what of the world of Ants declared war on that of Termites? Both sides may move troops and the like on humans ships and planes by stowing away but humans are otherwise neutral in this conflict. It is assumed that the members of each side are loosely allied among themselves and will fight together against their common foe. For each side the only acceptable outcome is the complete and utter annihilation of the other.

Which species shall prove victorious in this titanic global conflict?

I have no idea as to the advantages vs disadvantages. Since I like ants better, I voted for ants.

Termites....they hurt more. Have you ever been attacked by termites? Not fun....

Ants. All the different kinds combined would be able to defeat the Termite Hoarde.

I'd have to give it to the ants, as their ranks include all the army ants. Termites sure have some interesting tricks, but against those numbers...

The Termite may be outnumber but they have some fucking huge bases. Australia would be a powerful bastion for them as it lacks a land connection to the rest of the world. Some examples of termite constructions.

Termites are significantly bigger than ants. Ever see that Movie Antz, they have a pretty decent size comparison in there I believe.

Size matters not. Army ants take on things much bigger than they are and can take those down. They have been known to take down horses.

Army ants alone take out the termites. As for Australia, they can make a bridge out of billions of dead ants.
