Just saw Harry Potter 2

I just came back from watching Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I really enjoyed it, there was a lot of a giggle factor in that movie, and I will let you all in on little secret (you might already know this though): there is a 10sec scene after all the credits that shows us what happened to one of the poor unfortunate characters in that movie. It's worth staying back for a little giggle, but if you'd rather get up and stretch your legs, or indeed go to the toilet, than you won't be really missing out on anything.
Anywho, my favourite highlights would have to be the way Keneth and Alan (surely I don't need to write their full names) just played off each other. Too bad the series isn't titled: Serveus Snape and.... Just for the fact that Alan is sooooo good in any role. Also Jason Isaacs plays the snickering baddie extremely well!
Anyway for all those who are going to be dragged to see it by there kids, there are a lot of moments where the kids would be frightened half to death, so I suggest you make them wear their brown undies!

I haven't paid for a movie for over 3 years now, so I have lost all prespective on the money worth factor. But to put it into perspective, I had to come into work at midnight, and it is now 3am, and I didn't think that it was a waste of my time, so there you have it.

No. I have a casual job as a projectionist, so I see movies for free.

Sweet. I've gotten a few free movies thanks to a friend who works at the food counter.

You dogs.
I, a decent (rrrrrrright) citizen must pay to get in! Unfair I say! I must use my evil genius powers to make them bow to ME! Maybe give me a free love seat, and a chick to go with it, plus the day's taking.
All thanks to my almighty Mind Control gas!

Hey, it's called; product knowledge, so it's perfectly legal and fair.

I've seen HP2 twice so far and are planning on going again, possibly tonight. It is a fabulous movie, totally worth money to see it (although, obviously getting in for free would be preferable)--the kid who plays Ron is the cutest thing in the entire world!!
For those of you who have seen the first HP movie, this one's much better.
Love it!!

I plan on taking my nephew to see it. I took him to the last one and I really enjoyed it. In fact a lot of sophisticated people enjoy it. I think the story was just solid and well put together which helps dramatically. That and you cant go in there and act like an adult. heh.

I didn't think it was as good as the first one, and I didn't especially think that the first one was great. If you are a fan of the books, it might be worth watching, or if you really, REALLY need something to tide you over until TTT comes out. Otherwise, it might be worth renting on DVD.

Suckup.
Though, from the good buzz I might see it.

I haven't read the books, but I really liked this HP. Plus the characters have some serious mental issues like Dobby (who irons his hands) and the girl in the bathroom. But I still stick with the same lesson I learned from the first one. snakes = bad, people named snape= good.
Though I wouldn't mind going for free, I think it was worth the money.
I actually think people clapped at the end and they weren't all kids.

When watching movies that are based on books, I make a point of it never to fault a movie for a problem with the book itself. I invoke that with LotR all the time.

Hmmm. Examples? I'm interested in hearing about them.
And I'll prolly be watching it on Wednesday.

I went to the HP-psycho showing last week at the Senator at 12:01AM Friday (technially) morning, and there were some kids (who TOTALLY shouldn't have been there because it was a SCHOOL NIGHT) but the majority were college kids and other adults. They got
so into it, cheered and 'aww-ed' and even growled a bit at the bad guys (who I happen to love, but that's another issue
). It was so much fun!!
Ewo, you TOTALLY have to read the books. They are fabulous. I normally avoid fads like the plague and resisted reading these for a long time, and when I finally did read them, I couldn't put them down. Read all four in a matter of days (which you should be impressed with, since the last one alone is over 700 pages long!) because they so enraptured me. Read them.

For example, the issue with how Hagrid would send the children to a spider that eventually tried to kill them was a problem with both the book HP 2 and the movie. That's the fault of the author, not the movie-makers.

Do the Harry Potter books match the movies pretty well so far? I have read LOTR and there are some notable differences between the book and movie, which I can live with because I am glad they have a good LOTR movie with real actors. Since I haven't read it and actually might, would it be a good idea, since I have seen the movie?

The first one matches the book pretty well, considering the transition issues. Can't speak for the second, since I haven't seen it.
