If Religion and Politics were characters on a soap opera, Religion would be the one that goes insane with jealousy over Politics' intimate relationship with Reality, and secretly murder Politics in the night, skin the corpse, and run around its apartment wearing the skin like a cape shouting "My votes now! All votes for me! Wheeee!" -- Lagmonster

Yes, and also very old, we had a thread on it the day it was revealed.Crown wrote:Very cool
The even more interesting thing is, the only reason such would be revealed if the technology level was now considered obsolete...

Is it me, or does it look more like the NSEA Protector from GalaxyQuest than anything else.

Thus the whole technology demonstrator aspect. I'd bet it's never been more then 50 miles from its airfield.Vympel wrote:Range can't be too great

Though I did remember hearing something about using computers to copy what would be there if the object wasn't in front, and using some weird particle thing to make the picture on the front of the object.

They did that to the car in Die Another Day, But considering the images will be in 2D and we see in 3D, a careful eye can spot an object using such a cloak.

If it's on a plane, how close are you going to be able to get to one to tell that it is using a cloak?Darth Yoshi wrote:They did that to the car in Die Another Day, But considering the images will be in 2D and we see in 3D, a careful eye can spot an object using such a cloak.

Vaguely, perhaps. I think it looks more like a cross between a couple of the prototype jets the Nazis worked on during WWII: the Komet and another one (can't remember the name, but it had a big engine mounted on the dorsal fuselage with the intake right behind the cockpit)...Vertigo1 wrote:Is it me, or does it look more like the NSEA Protector from GalaxyQuest than anything else.
