Just not as dangerously naive as some people here....

I for one believe we will never ever know the REAL truth
behind JFK's assassination. There's just too much embarassing
shit in there to dig up, and for that reason, a lot of the
evidence has long since been destroyed to cover up
aforementioned embarassments.

In a way, JFK is our Rudolph Hess.

The only way we'll know the truth is when we're dead and before
teh Creator, and not one second before.

(and yes, the Government would hide stuff
from us..it's for "our own good", remember?)

Sheppard has a nice healthy degree of paranoia

Think about it. Why was Hess kept so long at Spandau, when people
who were more complicit in the Running of the 3rd Reich got out decades
before?

HE KNEW TOO MUCH, or was an embarassment to the british.

Remember, in the 1930s, it was fashionable amongst the British Upper-class
to betray their own country, for either Fascism or Communism...

EDIT: I belive the HESS files in England are sealed until 2020 or something.

I'll go with the embarrassment... What could he possibly knew that could still be kept secret after... what, 40 years?

Healthy paranoia is good. It's the people who take it to insane lengths who
are the problem (Like my mother).

She carries a fresh pair of clothes around with her at all times in case
she starts to itch and feel bad from "chemicals" sprayed onto her clothes

Because that's the date they stamped on them when
they Classified them. A date when everyone involved in
that mess would be long, long dead.

The hell the British still conceal stuff from 1854 to protect notable military and political figures.

He shot at his dad for taking away a gun that his parents told him not to buy in the first place. That goes beyond a little insane in my book. That's a nearly complete lack of cognative skills, and that's the best case scenario.

And that doesn't even touch the whole, 'healthy' paranoia aspect.

He's a conspiracy nut. Which, combined with his cognative skills, could lead to lots of violence.

Actually all that would indicate is he doesn't think things through and has massive anger/aggression problems. Or do you intend to argue that crime is the result of mental problume a person can't control?
