Welcome all fans of Syndicate! Here we shall plot the overthrow of the world by cyborg agents and good old-fashioned mayhem!

As long as I can get to fly the blimp, I'm all for it!

BTW, Syndicate Wars is nice, but the original game was... original, and I think a lot more clearer, with it's fixed isometric view, on Wars sometimes I would get lost on the rotating view. But, those are small annoyances...

Both games were great!

I didn't mind original, it was very fresh and new and actually made you feel like you were running a syndicate (you could spread, etc.)

THough I much prefer the graphics and music of Syndicate Wars...

I'm in a pyramid.

Mwahaha

(Actually, no, I much prefer the Syndicate. I mean, which sounds cooler, Church of the New Epoch or Eurocorp Syndicate?)

The previous makes me sound like a fundie...

In the original Syndicate, the "boss" was on a blimp, above the city... à la Blade Runner (where most of the inspiration for the game came from, of course).

Hey, it's better than mingling around with the populace, and die in a hail storm of corporate fire!

Church on New Epoch: they all deserve their deaths! And we were glad to help them!

Actually, the Syndicate Executive is also mounted in a blimp. The Churchers are ensconced in some kind of pyramid.

No no no, you misunderstand. I know which blimp you're talking about, I'm saying that it no longer exists because I just blew it up. :D

Well, if it makes you feel better I knew what you were talking about.

And I'm No. 13! This means I qualify to become a Vampire Primarch...

AH, ok... Fine with me... I'll just plug on one of those chips and spend the rest of my days in paradise island, away from the reality...

I haven't played both syndicates in a few years now...

What the heck is a "Vampire Primarch" anyway?

Syndicate was the beginning of amorality in modern games. Even GTA isn't as fundamentally twisted and wrong as Syndicate, awarding money for killing the innocent where Syndicate offered nothing; no points, no admonisment, just a game where you have absolute power and can kill every last civilian for kicks - with no comeback whatever.
"Gritty" and "adult" games like Postal had shock value and nothing more; Syndicate left it up to you to discover that you could use persuaded citizens as human shields, or that Policemen had more ammo than enemy agents and could simply be killed for their weapons.
Syndicate therefore mightily kicked arse. I love it. :)

The Antediluvians from Vampire: The Masquerade.

There are 13 of them, and each oif them has god-like powers.
SIcne I'm one of the top 13... Why not?

Syndicate was the first game that combined the ruthlessness of warfare with that of business. Use persuaded fools as decoys, persaude enemy agents to join your side, run people over (why waste the ammo?).

Truly a fantastic game.

IS there going to be another in the series?

I doubt it, Peter Molineux left Bulfrog a long time ago, and he was THE soul of the company!
The game's so unique that anything similar will allways be compared to it, and I think inferior. How could we make it better?

I dunno... How about redo Syndicate but upgrade it to the 21st century... There could be two major modes of play: World Domination and Scripted. World domination is like Syndicate original, Scripted is special missions which WILL take place regardless. For example, one of your territories is atatcked by a rival Syndicate, which uses a new piece of equipment. The other Syndicate gets a fixed force but is scripted to deploy it intelligently.

Etc.

That would be just great! And with multiplayer, then we would have global domination!

But, I guess Bulfrog is not interested in these things nowadays... BTW, what was the last game they released?

Beats me. i think they went bust.

But I wouldn't mind redoing it... Imagine, Agents with their own stats that can be boosted by drugs and augs... Multiple Syndicates each with their own style of play...

And the play couldn't be limited to just the city limits... (That pissed me off a bit on the games). Some decent vehicles would be more than welcome, more variety in the ACP's also, with some MG gun that we could be abble to use.

Ahhhh, it's good to dream...

Yes, indeed. Maybe certain missions could be time sensitive and require you to personally guide a courier through a rough area, like single-handedly transporting a package from Kiev to Kazakhstan, or something.

And they shoudl have much more cut scenes! I loved the Syndicate Wars intro movie! More! MORE!

Nowadays it would be easier to produce them! And probably all the graphics could be done like it!

We're dreaming, though... Senseless violence has become so vulgar that a syndicate-clone would be average amoung the rest. Unlike the originals, back then, there weren't many like it.

Oh, well... a sense of nostalgia invades me...

Damn straight. But how can it be made fresh and new again?
We'll have to wait for a lull in the market, then.
