$76 for 70 in a 60 on a friggin' freeway.... yeesh... and i know that the last time i had checked the speedometer i had been doing only 65-67 or so, NOT 70...

it has got to be quota season again...

and he lectured me about my abrupt braking when i pulled over... yeesh, just trying to make sure he didn't think i was gonna keep going...

Here in Arizona the highway patrol has announced that over the next couple of weeks they will be cracking down on people who don't wear their seatbelts. This is to take place mainly on I19 which is the way to go to get to Mexico. I'm betting their trying to nail all of the Mexicans who come up to Tucson to shop during the holidays.

Funny thing, I was under the impression that they weren't supposed to stop people exclusively for seatbelt violations. We've had a lot of deadly roll-over on I19 because vehicles packed with unseatbelted people have rolled so maybe they are trying to work on that too. I certainly could do with out the extra work that multiple trauma patients brings to my hospital.

Its not quota season until the police set up a full vehicle stop search and vehicle safety inspection check on one of the most busy intersections in town and stop EVERY car.

This happens in the last week of june in Tassie every year. And you get pulled over and breath-o-ed more times in that one week than in the rest of the year combined.

Because he nabbed you. Simple as that. A ticket for 10 over does seem kinda lame, but it's the cop's discretion at that speed, I guess.

you were speeding that's breaking the law CRIMINAL!!!

That reminds me of a joke. One day a man was speeding down the highway, watching red sports cars zip by him, or black sedans cruise on by. He looked in his mirror and saw the law. He pulls over and the cop walks up to his window. 'Sir do you know why I pulled you over?' the law asks. 'Because I was speeding officer.' the man replies. 'That's right' the officer says. 'one question officer. Why did you pull me over? there were plenty of other cars going faster.' 'Well, have you ever gone fishing.' the officer asks. 'Yes sir.' the man replies. 'Ever catch all of the fish?'

I'm just glad the one time I got stopped I was able to talk my way out of it.

"No officer you do not need to see my identification" *Waves hand*

"No officer I was not speeding" *Waves hand*

"I can move along officer" *Waves hand*

Okay, I didn't use some mad Jedi skillz, but that would have been awesome.

heh, too true... though i did find out that around here they're not too forgiving about right lane speeding... but there's a law that says that htey can't pull you over in the left lane unless you're over 74mph... i think we know where my commute lane is going to be now...

That's odd. It's like a law that allows you to break the law. Cool.

Screw YOU, and all the morons who think that putting a 40 MPH sign on
a deserted two lane highway with no pedestrian traffic is "protecting us
from ourselves"

If you've got a good road that isn't in a residental area why the fuck is there a speed limit
