Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP)
The CMP was created by the U.S. Congress. The original
purpose was to provide civilians an opportunity to learn and
practice marksmanship skills so they would be skilled marksmen
if later called on to serve the U.S. military. Over the years the
emphasis of the program shifted to focus on youth development
through marksmanship. From 1916 until 1996 the CMP was
administered by the U.S. Army.
The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1996
(TITLE XVI) created the Corporation for the Promotion of Rifle
Practice & Firearms Safety, Inc. (CPRPFS) to take over
administration and promotion of the CMP. The CPRPFS is a tax
exempt not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that derives its
mission from public law.

Sometimes I wish I was living in America where everyone can buy a gun everywhere...

I prefer the Karbiner 43.

The STG-44 is the best WWII rifle. It's the first genuine assault rifle, after all.

Uh...Shep...you can pick one up for $350 CDN here in Canada. That's about, what, $200 US?

The 500 $ are for a M1 in excellent collector's shape I guess.
If you are satisfied with a rifle in bad condition with non-original spare parts and such, you can come along with 200$.

I've gotten to shoot most of them, The Garand has a nice stable kick after every shot I know how far up the gun will go so I can pull it down for the next shot even if it is a bit inaccrate after the second shot(Barrel starts heating up and expanding loosing accuracy as the Groves are not quite in the same place anymore)
The Karbiner 43 was a pure pleaseure to shot, Untill you acutal did, It had to much recoil for what you where shooting and the Accurasy went right with the first bullet, Prehaps it was the gun I was shooting but I did not like it much at all
The 44's saddly I've never shot in RL but if DoD or MoH is any indication I would love em

The StG-44 is very rare, I've only seen one once.
The first genuine assault rifle and ahead of it's time, like many of the German WWII experimental tools o' war such as the ME-262.
Good thing they weren't ready for practical use until it was already too late for Nazi Germany to win the war!

Uh...no. One can buy a perfectly working M1 Garand in Canada for $350 CDN. But yes, the parts are not exactly "original." Most of them were manufactured by Beretta and are from armouries in Europe.
