Member Rankings

I'm only a newbie, but I'm sure some of the "ranks" that various members have are one-offs. Can someone please tell me whether they are able to set their own ranks in some way (other than by number of posts) by being moderators or is there some trickery involved here?
...and I'm not talking about an old Jedi mind trick...

Of course.
Grumbling to self: they come in, they're told to read the announcements, they don't, they ask questions, they're told to go to the annoucements, they do, they thank us why must we repeat this every two weeks? *groan*

I'm sorry. This is one of those things with systems where new people join and have a tendency to ask another member instead of checking the introductory messages/hints, etc. It's a matter of laziness (something I'm not proud of but succumb to all too often), and I think it's a human thing too.
Imagine what it would be like every two
days...
Anyway, thanks, really. This is such a vast forum that I couldn't resist asking that question. And may I add that this is one of the best forums I've seen (technically
and content-wise).
May the Force be with you and remain with you... always.

Never mind me, I'm just ranting to myself, not dissing you.

Also rectified, as well as several other updates. Anything else?

Just a dumb question from me.
If I joined the BOTM, would I lose my custom title, or would I be able to keep it?

Nope don't think so. You don't think I'm ordering you around do you?
EDIT- Vympel for custom title. Vote now!

I'll answer it this way:
ESB, Yosemite Bear, and Verilon are in the BOTM.
ESB, Yosemite Bear, and Verilon all have custom titles.
Nope don't think so. You don't think I'm ordering you around do you?
If I did, things would get very painful, very quickly.
