From what I hear Microsucks Winblows Internet Exploiter has some security issues that make it a worth while as trying to debate DarkStar.

IE seems to have better compatibility with weirdly coded pages, or maybe it's just that some people make webpages IE specific. My current version of Opera 6.0 also refuses to load some flash/shockwave animation as well as quicktime video, while IE does all this with no problems. Of course I haven't updated my Opera browser since I installed it so I don't know if they've fixed it or not.

In general IE has universal compatibility while Opera has issues with some pages. I still like and use Opera a heck of a lot more, the multiple windows and popup disabling are features I can't live without.

IE is more compatable with other pages, more integrated, and lodes faster (on my machine at least).

But I still use Opera.

IE doesn't have the multi-display interface and no mouse gestures.

i like IE. probably mainly because i´m used to it.

but opera also fucks up when loading some web pages.
sure, it´s not opera´s fault, because these pages are coded in a IE friendly but nothing else friendly way.
but who cares? when i surf the web i want to be able to view as many pages as possible even if some idiots cant code right.

I'm with Wong on the compatibility issue: if you can't be bothered to code in a format everyone's browser can read, I can't be bothered to visit your site. I use IE only very, very occasionally on my home computer, when there's a site I HAVE to see (usually school related) that only works in IE. Popup disabling alone makes Opera the best web browser out there, especially if the websites you like are of an....adult nature. Oh, and it's faster than IE or Netscape, uses fewer system resources, and if it crashes, it won't take the entire fucking operating system with it.

Some pages just refuse to work with Opera. So for those I go back to IE. Other than that, Ive gone Opera for all web browsing, and personal email.

Going File-->Quick Preferences is so much more preferable than trying to configure settings on IE.

A mouse gesture is something specific to Opera and Mozilla; you can gesture with the mouse (ala Black and White) to get certain things done (for instance, holding the right mouse button and dragging left takes you back a page).

The DOM in Opera is supposed to be pretty shitty. Lots of pages just won't work with it.
