Death for Moussaoui?

Do you think Zacarias Moussaoui deserves the death penalty or not?
For those who don't know, he is a man on trial accused of training as a pilot for the September 11 attacks. He had been arrested on an immigration law violation shortly before the time of the attacks and was in jail when they happened. Even though he did not succeed in carrying out his mission, he has been charged in connection, because he was in conspiracy with other men who did succeed in killing thousands of Americans. The charges he is on are capital, and Ashcroft is seeking the DP.
A fuss has blown up around this, with France (the country which Moussaoui is a citizen of) opposing a death sentence and stating that it will refuse to co-operate (including witholding evidence etc) if it's co-operation would contribute to a death sentence.
