So, what do you all use? Mechanical mouse? Optical Mouse? Tablet? Trackball?

MS Optical.

Logitech Optical. Only beef I have with em is that the driver disk installs foistware like MusicMatch (I already have WinMX and Winamp! No thank you!) Other than that, it works perfectly!

Opitcal Trackball. I have been using Trackball mice for over 6 years, almost 2 years ago I made the switch to my first optical mouse.

I mostly use my keyboard. Sometimes I use the mouse if it suits the situation better.

Good old mechanical mouse. I've had my current one for three years and it still works just fine. I think my hand is being molded to it.

I was using the Logitech Trackman Marble for the past 6 years, I just about can't use a regular one anymore. You can't find the bastards anymore, so luckily I found a newer one with a wheel that I'm using now. My dad has one of those Microsoft Optical trackballs and it's alright. It feels sluggish when I use it though. Saving grace is that it has a wheel, and instead of three buttons like my logitech it has it's left and right, then on those there is a smaller button that is assigned to back and forward on windows.

Touch pad. Only because my optical stopped working for some reason.

Pointing device? My finger. Esp. my middle one. :)

Serious answer - mechanical mouse. Never saw a reason for anything different.

Don't get the new Trackman Marble - I used for a few days and the accuract of it is simply horrid. I remember using the old ones and thinking they were grand (my uncle had one) but I simply could not use the new one. (I went into CompUSA and thought that the demo one was simply worn out - boy, was I wrong).

I have the Trackball Explorer - the Trackball Optical (different product, same tech) has an odd layout that I don't like.

Just curious, why do you still use a mechanical mouse? Optical mice are cheap these days (though Microsoft and Logitech still make fine mechanical mice) and less of a hassle.

Mech mouse here.

I hate the pads on notebooks at the stores. I prefer the knobs.

I just realized I said Trackball. I meant to say scroll wheel.

Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer. The nice big one with five buttons: the two normal ones, the mouse wheel, and the two on the left side. Fits my hand nicely and the two side buttons are really convenient, especially since MS lets you map them to whatever command you want (I have the small one mapped to "Run" and the big one to "Double Click".) On a side note, their newer driver software for the Natural Keyboard Pro does the same thing, so now I can map 15 hot buttons on it :D

I had the original Microsoft optical mouse and one day it started acting erratic. Microsoft shipped me a new Intellimouse Optical (5 button, but not the Explorer) for free (and they didn't even ask me to cross-ship!) :D

Err, I have a mechanical mouse. Does anyone actually care about that? *puzzled*

Well, now you know, if you did care. :D

EDIT: Or even if you didn't. Mwahaha!

As I am a giant planet-sized artificial computerized killing machine, I have no need of pointing devices.
