Buddha believes that existance is pain, but I think that Jesus would actually defend his fellow man.

Jesus could walk on water and cure leprosy, but I wouldn't consider him Jedi, just a show-off.

It seems that GL based the concept of the Jedi beliefs on Zen Buddhism...so Buddha, hands down.

assuming jedi means emotional self control, jesus is out. he showed both anger and sadness a number of times.

But his resistance to tempting implies pretty powerful mental strength. And he is perfectly willing to follow the dictates of fate.
However Buddha would probably MAKE fate.

I would go with Buddha. More of the philosophy is similar I think. Though Jesus could probably emulate some of the Force powers.

if your going with powers by the book, he can do them all, and then some. summon legions of angels to save him, et al?

Jesus is Sith, all the way. Buddha is Jedi.
Think about it...Buddha's all about harmony, service to others, and all that jazz.
Jesus is Jedi in that he wants to enforce his hegemony upon the world, but he's much more Sith in that he wants to do it personally, and install himself as the Son of God and shit. Jesus was high on a major power-trip. Plus, he had a major persecution complex, just like Darth Maul. Now he's waiting to reveal himself to the heretics, just like the Sith were waiting to reveal themselves to the Jedi.

BTW, the Buddha had superhuman powers as well....walking on water, prescience etc. It's just that it's against his philosophy to show them off.
