The EAGLE has STRUCK!

Post by MKSheppard »

09:00 AM, September 11th, 1946.......

A lone Heinkel bomber flies high above New York City, and from it's
bomb bay drops a fat cylindrical device......several minutes later,
the light of a thousand suns erupts over NYC......

BWHAHAHHA

*Shep has the Bomb in Hearts of Iron as the Germans*

Take THAT New York City!

Shep, you make me envious! I'm currently struggling as the Swedes to raise more divisions to protect myself from Germany and Soviet Union. It is the year 1938 and Third Reich has just annexed parts of Czechoslovakia, while I'll be soon able to build Light tanks with MGs! Yay... :P

What's all this from? This sounds like a game I might be interested in acquiring.

Oh yeah? Well, because of my superb generalship in Medieval: Total War, the third reich would never have opportunity to exist! I just conquered all Germany, France, and England. Unfortunately, my allied Fatimids of Egypt control all the eastern half of the map, with only Hungary and Poland to seperate us. I fear that war unlike any before will come to Europe.

Wonder what Heinkel's solution to the B-36's requirements would be? Nine coupled engines driving one propeller at the center of two flying wing style hulls crossing at 45 degrees in an X?

Actually, thanks to Shep, I went out and bought the game and its really fun, I've overurn Poland and brought Romania, Hungary, Estonia, Lithuania and Portugal into the Axis. The English and France are quaking in their boots as my divisions form up. But I have a special surprise for them....Very soon nukes will bloom over London and the Third Reich will SWEEP through Europe...bwahahhahah!!!

Ahem...sorry. Its easy to get caught up in this.

A carrier that was long enough to launch loaded heavy bombers?

Close, but it would have 2 counter-rotating props ala Spitfire F.24.

Its one thing to launch a small stripped twin-engine bomber with a 2000-pound payload off a carrier. It's quite another thing to launch the needed four-engine bomber with a 20,000-pound payload. The carrier would need to displace hundreds of thousands of tons.

Yes, yes with one pusher and one puller on a common shaft.

Ah, yes. Point conceded. Wasn't sure on Heinkel Stats. Huge ass carrier, a base in New Foundland, or maybe one way flight from Bermuda.

Which would be impossible to maintain. The US can build more bombers then the Germans can total aircraft. Any such base would be flattened, heck that was the entire point of the B-29, blast any airbase the Germans or Japan could build within range of American cities.

More likely the game lets the Germans pull a B-36 out of their ass. Hell if they allow the bomb for Germany in 1946 then it would likely let you have ICBM's in 1950. Most likely they used the Domination of Draka for research material.
