You should try a program called Direct connect. I have used it for about a year now and it is alot better than Kazaa and WinMX..

I haven't used Direct connect in a while, so I'm kinda wondering if they've changed things. When I was using it I had to load up a list of active hubs and then try to join them before I could download any files. Some of the hubs only had a few users, while others had hundreds, and they all specialized in different content. Is it still this way today?

whatever you do, do NOT use imesh.. it has more spyware on it than a pornsite, and it has one which hozes explorer to the point that i had to reload the comp.

If you're using KaZaA then you can switch to KaZaALite by reading and following the FAQ here

Takes about 2 minutes and free's up your PC from all that nasty spyware. Did it a while back and never looked back.

It's a Gnutella client. The network is pretty big, although there is still a problem with spammers. But it's open-source, so you don't have to worry about spyware of any sort.
