Request for longer sigs
I'm not talking about pics, but limit on text. Is there any chance it can be increased? To a length that can accomodate this:
There is no good or bad. Only context. And within that context is an infinite number of possibilities. Of morals or ethics...of good and evil. Nothing is ever set in stone. Everything we do in life can only be judged by the context in which it was done. And even so, it is never a clear picture. Therefore, calling someone evil or someone good is only a declaration made by you in the context of your upbringing and your indoctrination in whatever morals and beliefs your culture of origin may hold. So the next time you open your mouth to call someone different from you a nasty name, remember this sig.

I'm with IG on this. The text limit we have now is enough. Sigs are supposed to be short sendoffs; they're not supposed to tell someone's entire life story, describe their entire philosophy, or show the better part of their favorite movie.
It's not my place in life to make people happy. Don't talk to me unless you're prepared to watch me slaughter cows you hold sacred. Don't talk to me unless you're prepared to have your basic assumptions challenged. If you want bunnies in light, talk to someone else.

How about my latest sig? I made the text small, for easy scrolling past and it seems better than some of the mini-galleries that some folks have.
I unpacked a box tonight and came across the graphic novel I have of The Stars My Destination and wanted to honor one of my favorite SF stories. I wish someone would spend the money to make an Akira-class anime of it.
As far as sigs go, even with my mini-novel, I think 500 chrs is enough.
Shinova, try rewriting yours a few times. I like it, but a few rewrites will really bring out the power of what you're saying, and probably get you in under the limit.

If anything some need shorting, and there are several images which need to go.

Re: Request for longer sigs
No. Short sigs are a good thing. Having to wade through huge sigs would be incovenient and annoying. Besides, half the time, the sigs are completely ignored I think.Shinova wrote:I'm not talking about pics, but limit on text. Is there any chance it can be increased? The ideal sig is a snappy one-liner. It starts to become overkill when your sig winds up being longer than the your average post. For me to pay attention to long sigs, you would have to be telling one damn funny joke in them.

What the hell is that picture supost to be, anyway? Can you up the resolution of your monitor a notch?
And as one with a long signature, I think they are long enough.
I believe in a sign of Zeta.

now, what my sig is actually - I've gotten a lot of comments on that. my personal favorate is that it's some sort of rabbit. but a protoss zealot with an octupus - that's pretty amusing. what it is, actually, is a skeleton with long hair and scythe, flying on wings.

Lemme put it this way. Your sig takes up half the space on my borwser window, and I'm running at 1400x1050. It's way too fucking huge. Resize it or else.Enforcer Talen wrote:ig88: subtle.Spanky The Dolphin wrote:What the hell is that picture supost to be, anyway? Good fucking luck getting Talen to change his sig. He's used it on every board I've ever seen him at and I highly doubt anything less than MAD will get him to change it.

I'd be in favor of simply barring images from sigs entirely. Talen's sig is a perfect example of what a complete waste of space it is. Why everyone needs to state their allegiance to whatever clubs or organizations in their signature, which usually takes up a good ten lines when we've got people making shit up, I don't know. Your name and a nice quote serves nicely.

Will someone summarily delete ET's sig?
I'm tired of his fucking SIG taking up a lot of my screen space....
