Seems like a rather amature author to do something like that.

Then again, CNN once made an off-site link to one of those "devil in the dust clouds of the WTC", and the home site got so many hits (like many thousands a day) and CNN and the other news services didn't respond to his requests to either take down the link or put it on their own servers. He eventually changed the file to the Goatsex (or whatever) pic, and the news servers got flooded with complaints.
