Get your fill of sci-fi, science, and mockery of stupid ideas

Demon Swords. And boobies. What more could one ask for in a film?LordShaithis wrote:What riveting concepts are inherent to Soul Calibur which demand to be expanded upon in cinematic form?
Don't feel ashamed, I pretty much said the same things when I was younger.Lagmonster wrote:You know, I can actually remember a time when I said to my friends that someone would someday make a shitload of money off of movies based on Final Fantasy/ Resident Evil/ Wing Commander/ Double Dragon/ Super Mario Brothers/ Doom.

Personally, I'm hoping for a Max Payne film, preferably starring either Brad Pitt or Edward Norton. It have a soundtrack of him constantly internal monologuing as he systematically shoots up every building in New York City, then hallucinates for an hour or so ^_^DesertFly wrote:A game that would work more than well as a movie is Deus Ex. This, of course, is only if it's done right. as a political/conspiracy/thriller/sci-fi movie, with the action not emphasized. In fact, I would even go so far as to say that any action should be downplayed. That's not what the game is about, and it would only hurt a movie to try to make it a popcorn flick.

All could be done well, although Fallout (Fallout 2 in particular) is practically made for moviedom with the mutants, evil goverment conspiracy, ray guns etc...Enigma wrote:I'd like to see a Fallout movie or an Arcanum movie. Baldur's Gate?
Hey, the second movie - "Wrath of the Dragon King" or whatever - was actually pretty good.DEATH wrote:All could be done well, although Fallout (Fallout 2 in particular) is practically made for moviedom with the mutants, evil goverment conspiracy, ray guns etc...Enigma wrote:I'd like to see a Fallout movie or an Arcanum movie. It depends on the success of Fallout 3 by Bethesda, and the possibility of the Mad max 3 movie succeeding.
Baldurs gate could be a very good basis for a D&D movie, but if they use they crap involved with the first movie I'd prefer it to die rather than being ruined.
Second movie was, so far as I could tell, completely unrelated to the first in any way.drachefly wrote:There was a second movie?
Oh well. The first one was dumb enough as it was. I mean, they showed off a BEHOLDER at one point, and it never came up again.
Don't play with us like that, okay? ::sigh::
That doesn't have any interesting characters. Excepting the whole Grey Knight vs. Demon Primarch not really noteworthy.Ford Prefect wrote:

Can't argue with that though,Now the 2nd war, that's the money shot.
id love to see a 40k movie, especially with all the technology capable of creating epic battles (kingdom of heaven, LOTR) they could have some really sick imperial guard vs. chaos marines shots, and then the space marines could come, and all the imperial guardsmen who are laughing about dock and fart jokes and staring at the pin ups inside their helmets would shut the fuck up as they walked byCaptain tycho wrote:Don't feel ashamed, I pretty much said the same things when I was younger.Lagmonster wrote:You know, I can actually remember a time when I said to my friends that someone would someday make a shitload of money off of movies based on Final Fantasy/ Resident Evil/ Wing Commander/ Double Dragon/ Super Mario Brothers/ Doom.

They allready made a metroid movie- alien.Crossroads Inc. wrote:Ok, want a Video Game that could really work as a Movie?
Metroid...
Seriously! Between the backstory you can put in concerning Samus and the Spacepirates attacking her colony. Her being raised by the Chozo, and of course the backstory of the Metroids themselves, you actually have enough aspects for a worth while "plot" Plus...
It has
Explsions,
Chicks in Power armour,
Lots of weapons,
Spaceships,
More explosions,
And a big Brain Monster at the end.
Perfect Summer Blockbuster!
