Anyone here live in Montreal?

I might be swinging through Montreal for a day or two on my way north come late May, any advice on what I should see/do when I come through?
P.S. If anyone lives in Chisasibi, Radisson, or Matagami I need to ask you some things, please PM me right away... please!

No I don't live in Montreal, but the bio dome was a nice place to go visit when I was there in 2002.

There are a pile of users about 2 hour drive west in Ottawa, and some important users another 5 hours west from there in Toronto.
That's about as close to worthwhile as you'll get. Montreal should be enjoyed primarily on the merit of its sex shows, nightclubs, and gravy-covered-cheese-curds-and-fries.

May's a perfect time to go. Not living there anymore, but...
If you're downtown, for sightseeing, try the observatory at Mount Royal, St-Joseph's Oratory, McGill campus, Museum of Fine Arts, Old Montreal/Old Port and St-Laurent Street (and Schwartz's Deli). At night, St-Catherine St, St-Laurent St and Crescent are all fun. In May you might also be able to catch a Habs game.
A bit further out, there's the Olympic park (biodome, insectarium, olympic stadium lookout), the Casino Montreal. Pretty much everything worth seeing in Montreal is accessible by metro (subway).

Club Super Sexe! (Rue Ste Catherine)
Just look for the 50 foot tall neon sign with naked angels
Sir Winston Churchill's (Rue Crescent)
3 levels of fun. The downstairs bar rocks all weekend long, and the drinks are cheap!
Reuben's (Rue Ste Catherine)
Best Reuben sandwich i've had anywhere in the world. Make sure you go to the fancy looking one, not the deli looking one. They have kickass deserts too!
Le Fairmont Reine Elisabeth (Rene Levesque blvd)
Pricey, but nice. And you don't have to saty there to sneak into a neat little corner of the underground through their lobby elevators. Some great places for breakfast there. There is also a neat plaza and entrance to the underground across the street at the Royal Bank of Canada. Nice places to shop.
Vieux Port (on the riverfront)
Great stuff like bars, cafe's and neat litle shops set in 300 year old stone plazas and alleyways. There is a paddle boat pond and the iSci is there too, complete with an Imax theater.
the metro is clean (fucking clean by NYC standards) and fast. Just bring a french dictionary because the maps and train stops are all in French.

I'm told that Montreal has a very nice escort industry. You might want to look around a bit and book an escort for a couple hours when you're in town. Really fun times I'm told.

I dunno, I visited when I was in town and I thought that a lot of the environments were too small. What really got to me were the lynxs. One was pacing back and forth along the <10m of path that was half of it's home, and that's not generally healthy behaviour. The other mammals, birds, and even the fish, were pretty crowded as well, with not a whole lot to do.
That said, the tower above the stadium is pretty cool, and the botanic park was nice, as was the walk around the hill by the uni. The downtown shopping area wasn't bad either. Sadly the science museum is for kids.

Clubs that allow group sex and partner swapping do not harm Canadian society and should not be considered criminal, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled Wednesday.
The high court, which was ruling on two Quebec cases, said Canadian standards can tolerate the activities, even when they are done amid spectators.
The judges, in a 7-2 ruling, said the test for indecency is the harm it causes, and not simply community standards.
The cases involve two swingers clubs in Montreal that allowed sex acts, including swapping.
One case involved James Kouri, owner of a club called Coeur a Corps.
He was convicted by a lower court on two counts of keeping a common bawdy house and fined $7,500.

The other case involved Jean-Paul Labaye who ran a members-only club called L'Orage.
He was convicted of keeping a bawdy house and fined $2,500.
At the Court of Appeal, however, the cases took different turns. Labaye's conviction was upheld while Kouri's conviction was overturned. Now the Supreme Court has given a favourable ruling in both cases.

Tip for being in Montreal: If you go a block or two without seeing another stripclub, be afraid and run back to the last one. You're not in true Montreal any more.

Remember, legal drinking age in Quebec is 18. Let me say it again because it's noteworthy, especially to Americans. The legal drinking age in Quebec is 18. Oh, and beer is sold in supermarkets and convenience stores.

All the more reason to get stark raving drunk while you're in Montreal.
I remember my trip to Montreal, at the tender age of 16 I was buying liqour off the shelves and they didn't even check my ID.

Which one? I've heard of no-booze reserves in the Prairies, but never of one in Quebec.

Chisasibi, they were a series of indian towns to the north of it before they built the hydro electric dams uup by James Bay, so they moved everyone to Chisasibi. Drunkeness ensued and soon it got so bad they just banned alchohol.

I like Montreal, but apparently they don't like me. Last time I was there, someone spit on our car. Perhaps they objected to the colour (blue). Nah, I think it was the Ontario plates.
