Will Microsoft dropping support for Win2k change anything?

1. I've had people say that SP3 makes some things worse on 2k, thus have suggested that I keep SP2.

2. SP2 itself is rock-solid and hasn't crashed on my comp yet. On my dad's comp it crashed once but that was cause he has like a billion things installed, his Win2k was an upgraded one from Win98, and I was running Warcraft 3 and Kazaa was downloading 15 movies at the same time when the comp crashed.

So my question is, since Microsoft will be dropping support for Win2k sometime soon, will that make any kind of huge impact on how I use Win2k?

Microsoft will probably continue to update Windows 2000 with security patches for some time.

SP3 had some issues, but IIRC they've been smoothed out.

It would be hard to screw Windows 2000 up more. Not an easy task, even for Microsoft.

They won't be making any major upgrades for it and probably continue secruity updates.

Does that imply that Win2k sucks or that it's good enough?
