The American Film Institute has just released its list of the top ten films of this year.
They include:
Gangs of New York
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
About Schmidt
The Hours
About a Boy
Chicago
Adaptation
Antwone Fisher
The Quiet American
Frida
I notice that Star Trek: Nemesis isn't on that list.
What do you think of the list?

I'm surprised Road to Perdition wasn't up they, they're clearly trying to win awards and it's the type of movie critics usually like, but then again, the AFI is different than the Academy Awards (last year's AF I went to FOTR, so I suspect it wil got ot TTT this year)

C'mon Spanky, it's based on a historical event- oh wait, so was Titanic...
Well, uh... the characters are named and based after
actual people. None of that stupid romance crap.

Nope. He's even more opinionated about that kind of stuff then I am.
Not his kind of film to give a shit about.

I have the chance to go and watch it, but I have to work early Wenesday morning. In all hopes it's 3 hourse like FotR was. Heh. Now I see why all of those damned Warsie simmers on AoL were hyped up about the Lord of the Rings.

Not going to see.
neoolong wrote:

I'll see that one at least once in the theater.
neoolong wrote:
About Schmidt
The Hours
Haven't heard of these two before.

I doubt I'll see this Hugh Grant film. Actually I'll probablly try to avoid
seeing this one.

Haven't heard of these either.

Salma Hayek is in this one
(anyone know if she gets naked?) so there's an off chance I'll see it sometime. I'm not really into Frida Kahlo's painting, even if they are kind of cool in a trippy sort of way, so a movie about her isn't a big draw for me.

What? How could they?
Not really all that impressed with the list, but then I hardly ever find critical favorites to be my favorites.
