How much energy would something with a surface area of ~125.2 m^2 absorb from being fully immersed in lava per second second?
I ask cause I need it for some low end calcs I'm trying to do.
Power output of lava.

Re: Power output of lava.
That depends on the fluidity of the lava as well as the initial temperature and thermophysical properties of the immersed object. Besides, the power curve would not be linear, so you would not get a fixed number in any case. It will start higher and then decrease (perhaps very rapidly, depending on the variables above) until it achieves thermal equilibrium, at which point the net heat flux will be zero. There are many metallic and ceramic objects that you could immerse in lava indefinitely.Shadow WarChief wrote:How much energy would something with a surface area of ~125.2 m^2 absorb from being fully immersed in lava per second second?
Then I suspect that answer wasn't the one you wanted. Sorry.I ask cause I need it for some low end calcs I'm trying to do.
