In some other thread somebody pointed out that it should be "Scientia potentia est" or something like that. Anyway "knowledge is power".... I guess.

The old logo is kind of disturbing, until you remember that the United States government stays operation through a series of coincidences, dumb luck, and the fact that they helped out during World War II.

"Knowledge is power", yes.No one in the government evidently has studied latin too carefully.
Hell, I would not be surprised if they removed it because the ghost of Cicero had started to haunt them

On the plus side, it's comforting to know that our would-be Big Brothers are so stupid that they thought it would be a good idea to use a giant Masonic eye firing a giant death ray at the Western hemisphere as the logo for their new department.
