OK, I believe this has been brought up before, but the board has accumulated a fair number of messages since then, and perhaps the answer has changed. How many people would like the idea of a "Pure Star Trek" forum (discuss Star Trek with no "vs" arguments) and a "Fanfic" forum (discussing and/or posting fanfics)?

Fanfic forum is Ok, there should be no Trek forums. There are plenty of "true" Trek boards out there, where ignorant trekkies reign supreme. We do not need that here. This is not a Trek page.

Actually, I think we need a place where WE can discuss Trek, not those idiotic fanboy wankers. I don't think any of those would come to our pure-Trek board, and if they do we could just ban them:)

A Trek board is a good idea in theory, but either A: lots of idiots ala Timothy Jones will join or B... there is no B.

Fanfic is definately a good idea

I definately vote for a fanfic forum...there is obviously alot of interest on the boards for one and there are alot of people here with talent or at least a desire to read and examine other people's work.

I think that pure ST forum would eventually degenerate into something ugly eventually or SW stuff would creep in.

Fanfic and maybe a ST forum however the strick rule is your not even allowed to use the world SW and auto banned if you do in the ST foruns

Is it possible to vote for Trek and Fanfic forums or would that clutter the board?

I vote for a fanfic forum. We have talented writers here, and I for one enjoy reading fanfic.

Also, it is useful to collect every fanfic on a forum - pure wars, STvsSW, and Other Scifi fanfic.

Last, it would make a good place to ask for and give advices, clues, reviews, etc. for the one of us who would like to do fanfic but haven't got the talent.

EDIT: And I am, obviously, referring to myself.

Vote for Fan Fic forums. I like reading those things. And I have one to show off. (As do about 50 others)

Wouldn't a fanfic forum just become a mirror of ASVS's submitted fanfics?

In my humble opinion, you should just add a fan fiction forum for now. Then, in the future, you might consider if it's still useful to add a ST only forum.

I don't want to see anymore people like Loser099 coming on the forums.

I'd vote for both if I could. Fanfics sound great, but it should be made clear that using a spellcheck is expected. While I would have no problems with R rated fics, X and beyond should be forbidden. Most of the people here seem to be above the of twenty right now, but I'd rather not have some twelve years olds stumbolling into that. The mods and admins could also rate the fics before they are posted.



As to a PST forum I would be in favor but....



IT SHOULD NOT BE ABOUT ST BASHING! The forum would need some heavy watching! Also realize that we would be inviting every trekkie in the know galaxy to the site by this. There would be no intelligent debating with alot of warsies going there, and the Flamewars galore. Of course, it would liven things up!

How about a wall of shame....My vote GK's Portal....Then again would we want that thing polluting our space?
