My dad recently received a email warning him about a possible virus that may have infiltrated various comps. The file is:

"jdbgmgr.exe"

and is supposedly the virus program. Is this "virus alert" a real one or a hoax?

Note: I use win2k pro.

Hoax. That file is a file used for Java development. That hoax has been floating around the web for quite a while now.

Don't listen to any of those "warnings". Its just some moron trying to play on the fears of the gullable to screw up their machines. (ala "Amish virus")

Illiterate computer users. *shakes head* I'm barely literate when it comes to the basic of computers but at least I wouldn't fall for something like that.
