The Eagles, thanks to a inept performance by the Tampa Bay Paper Champions on national television tonight, have clinched the number two seed in the NFC playoff race and will have a first round bye. Of course, if the Eagles win on Saturday, they will clinch the #1 seed and, presuming they win the divisional playoff round, the NFC Championship will be played in the cold, drafty, loud, smelly, rat-infested, drunken, evil, evil, evil Veterans Stadium, one final hurrah before that ugly old bitch is blown up.
This concludes this public service announcement.

I don't know if I should be happy that the Packers get a bye, or sad that there will be a delay before some poor suckers have to go play a game in Green Bay in January.
Anyway, the Packers are currently the number-2 team in the NFC. Which should hopefully be changed to number-1 team in the NFL a month or so from now.

Bah. Packers. Unless the Giants pull out an upset on Saturday, the road to the Super Bowl will come through Philadelphia. At Lambeau, the fans eat cheese and congratulate the other team for a game well played. In the Vet, they rain snowballs on the other team's bench and cheer when enemy players get injured. And let's see how much Brett Farve likes getting pounded into the turf by Hugh Douglass, or how much fun Terry Glenn will have getting his head taken off by Brian Dawkins.

he, he he. The Bucs can always be counted on for a choke.
Whoever wins homefield in the NFC is going to the Super bowl. So basically, Tampa will be spending January at home now.....
