News for Interplay-haters

I read on a game developers' magazine that Interplay, due to its financial woes, will be turning their focus to "content-focused game development". Take that statement whichever way you wish, but I personally am hoping that it possibly means Freespace 3.

Does that mean no more cheap and tacky cashins like Fallout: Tactics? And maybe even finishing games before releasing them unlike Fallout 2?

Fallout 2 was patched quite quickly though.
I want Fallout 3.

That fixed a few bugs but the game is still incomplete. There were two paths to get to the oil rig. One is the standard boat in san fran which works fine and the other is the space shuttle which does not work and will render you unable to complete the game if you try to follow that path.
The bugs that were in the game upon release were inexcusable. How could they not spot the 'you get the car and you have to reinstall the game and start again' bug? Or the ghouls randomly attacking you in Gecko? Your NPCs disappearing in New Reno? Those were game ruining bugs that should not have been there upon release. We were given a beta and had to pay for the privilege of testing their game.
From what I've heard Tactics is little better and a very poor game. They were only allocated a single year to make it so it was Interplay that screwed it up not the developers even if the game only bears a passing resemblance to the original in terms or artwork anyway.
I hope Fallout 3 never happens for the simple reason that the team that made Fallout so great and designed most of Fallout 2 left a long time ago and I don't want a cruddy cash in sequel which is almost certainly what we would get. Look at how badly Fallout 2 was finished after they left, it's obvious who the brains behind the operation were.

Thank goodness that Blizzard reclaimed the Lost Vikings franchise.

I never played that and don't plan to now that I got AoM, at least for now.
