Where'd it come from?

Simpsons episode where they're making a Radioactive man movie and Millhouse gets selected.

An episode of the Simpsons. They were filming a movie based on Bart's favorite comic book hero, Radioactive Man. The Schwarzenegger-parody character played Radioactive Man, and was tied to a post in the nuclear power plant as part of a scene. In the scene, his sidekick (played by Milhouse) is supposed to untie him and rescue him before a flood of extremely toxic crap comes rushing down and eats away at everything in it's path. Goggles are passed out in case they're needed.

Well, the scene starts, and the sidekick is nowhere to be found. "Radioactive Man" puts on the goggles, and is then carried away by the flood of toxic crap. As he is carried away, you hear him cry out:

"My eyes! The goggles, they do nothing!"

No big mysterious origins like the word fuck for it.

It doesn't sound that funny, but it was fucking hilarious in the show.

You also need to hear the line "Now this is real acid so lets have goggles people" from the director. Radioactive Man replies "Real acid?"

Just as the wave hits him he puts on the goggles. Then we see him throw through a trailer wall with his cloths melted off. Then the famous line comes.

Yeah, it has to be said with a thick Austrian accent; "Ze goggles! Zey do noszing!"

Probably one of the most famous Simpson lines ever

And one of the funniest.

It was really fucking funny during Quake Paintball. Nothing beat that one. You get shot, then the damn sound bite comes up

'My EYES! The goggles do nothing!'

That was just fucked up.
