I scrolled about halfway down the off topic page and didn't see a thread like this, so...
What were the highs and lows of anything this year?
Best Movie: Bowling for Columbine
Worst thing I was the last one to know about: The death of Douglas Adams.
Just off the top of my head.

Worst TV moment:
A few days ago. A program on channel 4 dedicated to people who have died during 2002 and they gave Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez a bigger slot than Jam Master Jay!!!!!

Not to down play someone's death, but he OD'ed. His loss. I don't know about Lisa 'Lefteye' Lopez. I just know it was a car crash. Jam Master Jay was a true loss. That was just huge. I believe Richard Harris was the actor in Harry Potter. He was a great actor.
The high point would probably be this board coming up. Now a bunch of us have a place to come and talk shit, and rant all fucking day. heh.

Potter is the one that's out now. It gets the mention. But yes, there's too damn many to list.

Yeah, watched that last weekend, but he was barely in it. Not like the book. Anyway, will miss his contribution to the movies.

I have heard that "they" want him too, but I don't know if he has accepted. Personally, I think that Ian Mcdermit or however you spell his name (TC) would be better.

No he didn't, he died from a heart condition he's had all his life, the toxicalogy report came back completely negative.

So he didn't OD. That's all I ever found on it when it happened. Was even on MTV that he ODd. They must have been speculating. Well, if it was a natural condition then it is a sad loss.

The death of Randy Castillo was a big one for me. And I liked the Queen Mum.
Best movie was Monsters INC, although 28 Days Later was very good, and very different.
Best thing to happen...
...
Mick Jaggar's knighthood?

Bad Thing: Eric Clapton not getting knighted
Good Thing: Newcastle United getting through to the second phase of the Champions League after losing their first three group matches. (UP THE TOON ARMY!)
Bad Thing: The group that Newcast;le have got for the second round of the Champions League. Your in pretty deep shit when you can say "Bayern Leverkusen next, easiest match in the group"

The Death of Stephen Jay Gould
Up until a few months ago, Harvard were still offering PhDs with Gould as a supervisor. Hmmm....
