So, any image libraries anyone knows about or anything? Yes, I have tried the images tab on google, nothing much came up for my search criteria

Make it up. Go to the library.

Just go, find a picture and have someone on the board make it into an avatar.

Just think of one of your favourite characters or things (dragons, beer, whatever) do a search on google.com for pictures, resize it. Or make your own like I did. Think I did it on Paint, just a tribal sun I one day plan on getting tattooed on my back. Sort of a personal symbol. But I agree that it can be difficult coming up with ideas.

You just need to shrink your image and upload it, it ain't that hard.

I always find my avas in google. The current ava of mine started out as a 140x140 jpeg. I used paint to shrink it and change it to gif format.

I serch for pics of mages on google. To get the best quality possible, i look for ones that where originaly small enough to be avatars

I have an image, just it's too many pixels wide, maybe I re-size it with paintshop

You could also do a search for "message board avatars" on google and check out some links... i personally prefer the "find a pic and photoshop it to the right dimensions" method both here and in chat.

Shit, I wish that had occured to me earlier! I have always wanted a raven totem as a centerpiece for a totem armband. UF, when I did get an armband with a CP, I was taken with this celtic design (and with some 151) and the guy gave me a deal that was too good to pass up--only now, I wish I had been thinking of the raven thing then! It had been on my mind for years but when the time came I totally forgot abt it. Now I'll just look for it as an avatar. Thanks for reminding me! I had been looking for a woodcut of Malacoda, but I've given up. The ones I found were too vague or faint or uninteresting.

Look for anime galleries, then crop and resize. Its what I do.
