A close friend of recently purchased a Ferrari 360 Modena.
And is now dead

I can't even begin to start on what a waste of money this is.
He wasn't even insured, as his insurance coverage would begin in a couple of days.

uhh... thanks for the poke.
Anyhow, it would seem that he thought that a Ferrari could defy the laws of physics and is now about a million dollars in debt.

Looks like the rear of the car hit the utility pole at speed (cornering too fast?) which demolished the rear third of the vehicle and started a fire. Note that some of the body panels appear to be burned away.
Moral of this story: don't ever fscking drive without insurance. Period. No exceptions.

The funny thing is that , despite all that damage, he managed to get out and watched it burn before his eyes
And yes, he was cornering to fast and oversteered hitting the utility pole at high speed.

This is absolutely correct ( forensics expert maybe
)
Anyhow, I agree that its an overpriced pile of junk, those carbon fiber panels just melted.
And now he contemplating applying for bankruptcy.

Hit someone else's million dollar Ferrari--or worse, injure a few people--in a collision that's your fault and you'll be on the hook for a million or more.
Try again yourself.

And the car insurance won't pay? Now that sucks.
