Ando has informed me that his 'net is screwed and he cannot access bbs.stardestroyer.net though he can access stardestroyer.net.
He shall not be able to post her at all untill he figures out what is wrong with his net.

OK.
I'm on a different computer and its working fine.
The only problem is... WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON!
bbs.stardestroyer.net is the ONLY page that won't open.
Now, I just moved my computer, could it be something to do with dialing from a different location = different IP address = problems?

The board was locked. I couldn't access it at all with IE but I could get in with Opera, but couldn't post anything and a bunch of the graphics were down.

Or it could be some IP/DNS problem. For me it lasted only a few hours.

Sometimes the server just gets sluggish for some reason, and then it's fine other times. I wish I could tell you what was causing that.

Try looking for a HOSTS (no extension) file somewhere in the C:\Windows or c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\ directories. Then open it with Wordpad. If you find a 127.0.0.1 bbs.stardestroyer.net line, DELETE IT! Also try
HijackTHIS (Direct Dload to an anti-homepage-hijack program) by my good friend
Merijn Bellekom.
Spybot Search+Destroy might fix it too.

The board started to give me some connection trouble at midnight newyears eve and has been acting up on-and-off ever since. One of PHPWebHosting's edge routers seems to be going apeshit at random intervals; when the board is down the tail ends of the traceroutes look like this:
Code: Select all
15 170 ms 171 ms * Obelisk-2-Cedar-Oc3c.Onecall.net [216.37.0.114]
16 * 2584 ms * Hosting-132-34.PHPWebHosting.Com [64.72.132.34]
17 2474 ms 2473 ms * Hosting-132-34.PHPWebHosting.Com [64.72.132.34]
18 * 2433 ms 2444 ms Hosting-132-34.PHPWebHosting.Com [64.72.132.34]
Yes, you read that right. 2.5 second ping times.

Something similar has happened to me several times. What I did was go to the TOC page, and go to the alternate link. I end up having to log in every time I want to post, though.

I have been having this problem too, and can only get to the site using my dad'shideously expensive internet access. I have tried with different comps and my normal ISP and it doesn't work, plus one of my friends with iprimus tried it too and couldn't get there, if I remembercorrectly fromt the broadband/dial up thread you are with iprimus too right? Maybe it is their problem.

It's probably because there are a lot of people on at one time. I was getting messages last night it couldn't go to pages, but if I tried going a different way (like page 2 instead of next page), it would work. The internet is fickle. Just have patience.
